Automatic doors slid open, welcoming an armored Mandalorian into a meeting room in Clan Vizsla’s offices. The room was fairly spacious, if a little spartan, and a few members of the Clan’s Summit had gathered here. They offered their greetings to Kanal O’neill as he pushed his bounty target towards the centre of the room.
“Did he offer much of a fight?”
“Tried to tackle me down, but nothing more,” Kanal reported. “He talks a lot though.” Rulvak Qurroc, Quaestor of House Wren, handed a credit chip over to Kanal.
“We’ll need you for this next part,” the Quaestor said. “Take a seat.” The pilot acknowledged with a curt nod as Rulvak fiddled with the blinder that obstructed the prisoner’s vision. A gag had also been applied, keeping him from a proper response.
“We meet again,” Rulvak greeted his prisoner. “You should have left Eos when you had the chance.” The prisoner growled underneath a gag, fixing the Sephi with a confused glare that asked more questions than he could right now. The teenage boy glanced around the room, recognizing most of the Vizslans gathered. As the gag was removed, he decided to buy himself a little time.
“Did you all miss me so badly, you sent a bounty hunter to bring me here?” Darcy asked in an attempt at sarcasm. “I’m flattered, really, but I do have an important appointment I should keep.”
“Selling Collective tech to the Brotherhood is a dangerous business,” Kalan Amak replied, “especially when you don’t actually have the tech.” The Proconsul of Clan Vizsla stepped forward.
“That is just a rumour,” Darcy countered. “It’s Kalan, isn’t it?” The boy flashed him a convincing smile. “We got along all right, didn’t we? Surely we can clear up whatever this misunderstanding is about.”
“You could pay Rulvak back his ten thousand credits,” the Proconsul pointed out, “or you could pay us seventy.”
“I thought we were even,” the boy bluffed as his mind raced. Seventy thousand credits probably meant a certain kind of trouble. “I did fly us off the Matron, after all. And if we’re not, I can make ten thousand back in a day. Just give me a ship and something to sell and I’ll double your profits. Guaranteed.”
“You want us to give away a ship?” The gathered Summit chuckled, but Darcy lifted his chin defiantly.
“Consider it a loan. I’ll pay it back faster tha-”
“Or you’ll just run, slave,” Kalan interrupted. Darcy grit his teeth and clenched a fist.
“I am no slave,” he sneered. “I am a free man.” His current interrogator pressed a button, and an audio recording began playing. “Me and Bardot, from the Godless. As I remember, I saved all of you from that ambush!” The room almost erupted in laughter. “Bardot and I go way back. He is a good and loyal friend.”
“We had this conversation translated,” the Proconsul replied.
“...he and I might be going through a rough patch right now.”
“He insists that you are a slave that belongs to Nalya the Hutt.”
“I am not a slave,” Darcy repeated. “I bought my freedom fair and square.”
“Then why has the Hutt Cartel placed a seventy thousand credit bounty on your head?” Darcy broke eye contact and ignored the question. “That’s a very large price for an escaped kid, and a lot of heat that could come our way if we keep harboring you. You can tell us what they want with you, or you can tell them yourself.”
“Nalya is not Cartel,” Darcy finally replied. “She is a hated outcast who runs her own merchant guild. She won’t affect your reputation with the Cartel, and she won’t pick a fight she can’t win.”
Kalan was a little more relaxed as he asked, “Then why the price?”
“I was an essential part of her smuggling network.” Noticing his skepticism, Darcy fixed the Proconsul with a strained but highly confident stare. “I was the best at what I did. I could sell anything. I still have a lot of contacts. And her bounty is an insult, I could make seventy thousand in a fortnight.” Kalan Amak exchanged a glance with Declan, who was now stepping forward.
“I have heard enough,” the Consul of Clan Vizsla began. “You have a sizeable bounty on your head, and if you were older we would claim it without a second thought. But, you did prove yourself useful on Arx. You are too old to be a foundling, but too young to be a warrior, so you must choose.” The Consul took the stuncuff controller from Kanal.
“Kanal is owed your bounty, and someone will pay it. We can offer you refuge in exchange for service to the Clan, or you can go your separate way. Either way, you will need to deliver credits, not words. This is the chance you have earnt for your aid on Arx. This is the choice you must make to decide your fate as a full-grown. This is the Way.”
“This is the Way,” the others repeated.
Declan released the stuncuffs as Darcy considered his next words carefully.
“I’ll need to hire a team.”
There is a LOT to cover here!
Granted, part of that is because the GJW has come to an end, resulting in lots of Notification emails to sort through, and best of all, some pretty nifty and substantial awards! Well done to everyone, you’ve all been really active, to the best of your abilities, and that’s what really counts. We all have schedules that change and vary between each other, and as long as we’re all having fun I’m happy :)
Special shoutouts to Von Ricmore, Ra’gnar, and Trenkyp for their promotions, along with an Anteian Cross for Korvis! Kanal and myself are more interested in rolling our efforts in the GJW forward, so that will hopefully make for a nice bonus down the track.
Here is the full list of awards and achievements I’ve been able to put together:

The third Great Hunt is upon us! Featuring a few fairly quick and timed events, along with some graphics and fiction, the Great Hunts are one of the bigger Clan events that Vizsla puts together for our members to compete in.
The main competition is here: The Great Hunt III
Our space station, a Golan III, is being constructed as we speak. To help flesh out the space station, Declan has created some competitions to “smash the champagne” against the station. Help be a part of shaping our new space station by participating in these competitions! The link to the parent comp is here: Golan III
And another quick and easy credits competition I noticed some of us participating in is the Puzzlek Weekly Series, granting a new weekly jigsaw puzzle each Monday. The main competition link is: Puzzlek Series
Plans are changing, and with them, so is our wiki! Korvis has been kind enough to get me started on updates for our wiki page, and I am in the process of fine-tuning those now. The finished product will be ready to go later this week.
Some exciting news has crossed our bench: we have been given the go-ahead to create a second House, activity-wise. The Summit is holding off for the moment, as the Clan’s numbers are around 35 and they would prefer to have numbers around the 40-50 range.
Where does that put us Lore-wise? We have been given pre-approval to become a House, so I am accelerating my plans a little, but the gist of it is that we will be similar to a private military company that handles legitimate business for the Clan. For the time being, Darcy is hiring all of you to complete a few jobs here and there, build up our reputation and grease the right palms in September, with an eye at being properly set up as a PMC in October, and some kind of big baddie event for Halloween. I have a few ideas in mind to spice it up a little.
As we build up fictionally, this groundwork will take on more of a life of its own as we claim responsibility for a larger piece of the galaxy’s pie. The idea is that we will be able to set up a logistics network that will feed us contracts and supplies, give us people and assets we’ll need to protect, and reputations that we will need to maintain - all of this while we are in competition with other groups in the galaxy. This was intended to have a longer progression, but if the Clan does get a sudden, solid influx of members, I’ll need something I can scale up to House level quickly.
Also, feel free to reach out if there is an idea or storyline you’d like to explore, particularly if it’s personal to your character. Part of this job is to make sure you all have the right opportunities to shine, and while I do have to put together a solid lore-backed approach to our functions as a Team and House, ideas and wishlists are always welcome.
Don’t forget that we have our own Telegram channel if people wish to use it, along with a Clan-only Discord server. I am available at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] or @DenathCiarus.
