Scholae Palatinae Consul Report #4

Consul Report

Hello Scholae Palatinae! It has been a busy time for the clan, with the ending of Red Fury, and the beginning of summer time. I’ve got a few things I want to cover in this, but I will do my best to keep it brief.

Intel: Brotherhood Wide - The Grey Ones

For a while, there has been a lot of discussion on the addition of both neutral alignment, and non-force using paths here in the club. Mav’s latest DGM report touches on some of these coming changes to our system. These changes are still a ways off from coming, but are things you should be aware of.

We will be seeing the addition of two “non-force using” orders, Mercenaries and Enlisted. Both of these “orders” will be able to align themselves to a Light/Neutral/Dark path, even though they don’t use the force. What’s the difference between Mercenaries and Enlisted you may be asking? Mercenaries tend to be ones with no real “loyalty” to anything other than getting paid, or becoming famous. Enlisted are the loyal and active serving members of the military.

The addition of the “neutral” path means there is the opportunity to work as a “Grey Jedi” or unaligned force-user as well. When this change comes about, all clans will declare alignment for three “slots”. These will reflect what kind of new recruits get sorted to the units, and the general “alignment” of the clan over all. This system hasn’t been finalized, but when it does come about, clans have to have good rationales for what alignments they are going to take. Over time this means you might see clans move in one direction or the other.

For CSP, when this is put into effect, there will be a good deal of discussion on where we are lore wise, and the directions members wish to go with their character development. As we are the “Imperial” clan, it's fair to say we are going to want to reflect that strongly with our alignment choices.

For now plan to keep kicking ass like you already are, but start thinking about if you are interested in pursuing new avenues of character development. It is on the horizon.

Intel: Brotherhood Wide - Gaming

The latest Fist Report also includes information on some coming changes to the club, in this case the gaming awards.

Clusters of Fire have been the gaming staple for ever, and cover every form of gaming activity: PvP(Members), PvP (others), PvE. We have a ton of gamers, and a ton of CFs getting awarded on a weekly basis. Because there is no difference between a CF for playing against another member of the club, or playing with another member of the club against a gaming environment, there is nothing to show who is doing what kind of gaming.

There is going to be a new kind of Gaming medal created, and awarded for PvE activities. Many CFs will be examined and converted to this new medal “Cluster of Something Something” once it is finalized. So don’t be surprised if when this change finishes being finalized and goes live on the site, if you start seeing your Cluster of Fires go down, and the new clusters go up.

Once this is in place, the Fist is going to examine the weighing of these two cluster types, and adjust the GMRG rank requirements, prestige, etc, appropriately.

I think this is going to be a pretty cool change to the gaming system, and look forward to seeing how it is finalized. Expect to hear more on it as it gets closer to being finalized and live on the site.

Intel: The Imperial News Net - Red Fury

The CNS/CSP co-op event, Red Fury, has come to an end. Pirates have been killed, we didn’t end up in a full on war with CNS, many awards have been given. I would call it a resounding success. I hope you all enjoyed it, and with learning more about one of the other great clans in this club.

As a breakdown, here is some more lovely CSP specific information from this. Our wonderful Rollmaster, Mayda Ferium took first place. We also had Cruise, Xantros, Delak, Athrun, and Zagro come in the top ten! We had a total of 84 individual submissions, and more submissions in the long fiction and first short fiction than CNS did!

I have put together a quick and simple ten question survey about Red Fury, so if you have a few minutes, I would greatly appreciate it if you filled it out! You can take the survey here.

There is a lot of things on the horizon to look forward to, so I hope you all are as pumped for the next few months as I am. You all keep showing time and again how awesome you all are. Until next time,

For the Empire!

Oh yes, no war, that is good, hehe...

Great report xen! I can't wait to see where we go ^^

Um up up and away?

Nice report. I like that you did a follow up questionnaire to gather feedback, and I didn't even realize I was beat out by another Rollmaster. I feel less shame now.

Ha! Take that pirates.
