Second Quaestor Report of Guardian Corps

Welcome to the second report of the Guardians Corps!

The Guardians are a new house in the Clan, and I really want to know what it is you’d all like it to be. Do you want us Gaming focused? Writing? Graphics? What is it you’d like it to be? I, personally, am a writer and usually only play single player games or games that aren’t exactly supported by the Brotherhood but if you all want more gaming focus, I will adapt for you. I’d really love it if you could email me or PM me on Discord, start a conversation about what we’d like for the House to be.

I have my ideas of what I want it to be for us, but I want to supplement them with what you want. Feel free to reach out to me any time and I’ll reply as soon as I can.

Yes, I know, the report is lacking a fiction but next month’s report will include a nice substantial one. That might be the formula I go with for reports. One month, report, one month no report. Doing so I think will make it easier to formulate actual report fictions that matter and will affect the House and its members, while also allowing for the no fiction reports to be pure business and updates.

What Have You Been Doing?

What have I been doing? In real life, the Wiff and I went to Boston to see Aurelio Voltaire, had an awesome time, and am now currently recovering (hence the lateness of the report) If anyone has not heard of him and wants to listen, I highly recommend his song Brains (featured in The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy) or for the more “mature” audience, my favorite song is Cathouse Tragedy. Also bought Ghost of Tsushima and have been playing that. Highly recommend it if you haven’t tried it yet.

In terms of the Brotherhood? I’ve been formulating a House enemy that will allow us to partake in some fun stories and plots without hindering the progress of the Consular Conclave or the Clan’s plans. For a taste of what is to come, I’m working on an idea of a criminal organization that uses a pseudo Force Cult as a front. More details to follow, but come on, that sounds neato right?!

On top of this, I’ve been crafting competitions for us and the Clan at large. Don’t forget, we have some comps out now that will have an impact on the future of the House (list to follow). I also want to create a series of fiction “events” for people to flex their writing muscles or practice. These events would have nothing to do with the House or Clan, or even the Brotherhood at times. They’ll be fun competitions that revolve around some part of Star Wars history or lore. For instance, one might revolve around the Nightsisters, while another might revolve around Tusken Raiders. They can be about anything, and I’ll take suggestions on what people might want.

On top of the fiction “events”, I want to run a bi-monthly game night for the House, this way we can come together and hang out, enjoy the company and maybe earn some clusters. Last month, the Gungan’s Gossip was that I wanted to increase gaming activity in the Clan and House, and I think this will be a great way to do so. Also, the Community Events that happen every weekend will be a great thing for us all to participate in and get to know each other more.

Change of Plans: Order of the Varactyl

Order of the Varactyl will be undergoing a slight change. Instead of a monthly change of the guard, I am going to make it a quarterly change. Every three months, new members will be inducted into the Order, allowing the Order to be actually usable in a variety of fictions and other things instead of just a pat on the back.

The current order is still forming, but I am tracking member activity to ensure that our most active members get recognized and rewarded. Look for next month’s report to see who officially gets named. Keep up the great work everyone, I’m loving everything I’m seeing.

Gungan Gossip

Last month, I suggested we start working on Gaming activity to make the House and Clan stronger and get more activity. This month, I think a really good thing we can work on that I’ve mentioned earlier in the report is strengthening our community ties. I’m thinking every Saturday we have a “Speakeasy Saturday” where members can come onto Discord, join the voice chat, and just chat and have fun. I know we sometimes do that already, but I think I’m going to be making more of an effort to make sure that it happens more.

Another thing I’d really love to see more of us is member input. I will always say that, and will always say that, but this isn’t just one member's house. This is all of our house. We all deserve to put a piece of ourselves into it and be proud of what it becomes. Please reach out to me any time you have an idea or want to help with something. I will never turn anyone away.

Ask Kah!

Gui asks: Have you given any thought towards creating a new threat to Odan-Urr, one that will help us further develop our new House and cement us in our roles as Guardians? Or will we be following the current Clan lore/hurdles already in place?

Awesome question! My answer? Both actually. The future of the Clan is an awesome one, and I’ve also been formulating ideas. I don’t want to step on any toes and create something that is going to spit on the vision of others, so it’s a lot of working with others and making sure that nothing steps on another idea.
