It’s that time again, another report out on the works. Grab those reading goggles! I’m touching on a lot of interesting subjects! Included are a couple big Brotherhood news, a summary of that survey I forced kindly asked you to do, and a few other good topics. Enjoy!

Shadow Gate News

BT Survey Summary

I sent out a survey recently asking some questions on what you guys wanted (Yes, the subtitle included that Spice Girls song). Several of you have answered it already, but if you haven’t yet, go give it a quick run through. All input is welcomed and appreciated, BT Survey.

Prompt/Plot Topics:

I received a huge call out for more focus on our lil’ asteroid: missions, expanding deep cover aliases, developing the crime front, including the Hutts. It is clear that we prefer less INQ’s and undesirables. That’s understandable as the topic is being visited everywhere and we want to play in our own sandbox. There was one interest in the Jedi, so we’ll try to fit that in in the future. As I mentioned before, whatever prompt we have going forward will be a great place to develop and explore the Factions.

TG list of comps, bi-weekly:

I’ve decided against this for a couple reasons. One, I seem to have no trouble forming a grand list of interesting comps within reports (Enjoy!). Two, it is best for members to go out and discover these on their own. What’s more satisfying than finding something, finishing it, and enjoying it all through your own hard work? That being said, I’ll likely still pin any bt related comps.

Allowing New members in:

The majority of answers regarding whether or not to allow new members to be assigned into the BT ranged from neutral to eh, let’s see. That’s what we’ll do than, we’ll see. If it works, then that would be lovely, having Shadow Gate as a Recruit welcoming team. Some wonderful input was given on the implications this has on our rosters and activity: it boost our numbers, yet, these new members may just sit on our rosters. Both of those evaluations are valid and are a potential outcome.

However, our group is full of experienced, active, and helpful individuals that can certainly inspire, each leading by example in their own way . It’s an environment that has massive potential to provide new members less chance to fail, but, not completely remove opportunities to fall. Our mistakes help improve us, and each of us must learn how to get right back into the metaphorical saddle. The BT will just provide a leg up if need be during those times. I say this from experience, as I would of likely dropped if I didn’t get introduced to all of you first.

So, we’ll try it out and see. Many factors come into play, making it hard to judge a complete outcome or a sure-fire training procedure for this.

Member Competition Ideas:

A couple of you had written up some interesting competition ideas in response to this question. I will be following up on these throughout this week. I would like to remind everyone that if you have an idea, don’t hesitate to do it. Just remember to run it by myself and the House Summit first. We love seeing the effort you folks put forth out of your spare time. Feel free to ask me to help co-organize events if you wish for a extra hand. Go out and unleash your ideas onto the Brotherhood.

Other:

Thank you all for your input in this section. Other than the support, we got a call out for an increase of a couple extracurricular activities. One, ‘MOAR HANGOUTS!!! :P’. Definitely, these are great for getting to know each other, helping motivate, and/or a nice escapism outlet when both life and the djb are dragging you down.

Second, setting some time aside to discuss character plot lines and development. This seems like a good idea and it’s incredibly handy to do so with others. I look forward to setting up some time for this.

Last request was for a picture of my hammer as one cannot truly judge how awesome such weapon is without laying their eyes upon it. I will come up with a design and give you it in the future. :P

RO

A little while ago, Celevon started up a fun RO for the group. This is a great opportunity to practice for waaaaarrr!!! (Yes, Skarbles, war.) Who knows when we’ll see the next one or even what we’ll see in Sins Ep. III. Thus, use this opportunity to hone your skills. I have next post and will be completing it within the next two days. So, jump in and have fun with it. :D

Member Rockin’ Rollin’ Roster

Ah hell, this isn’t goodbye!

As you all know and are aware, K’tana has left us to bring her badassary to all of House Qel-Droma as the newly known CrocAedile. It certainly doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing this lady around. K’tana and I have plans to work closely in order to bring you lot innovative and fun material to enjoy. She will be sticking around in the SG telegram chat as long as she wants (Honestly, I don’t think I can get rid of her. She’ll likely just reappear. XD).

Qel-Droma News:

The House is doing a large wiki rewrite project in which we are revising and improving the amount of information we have for our House and little astral rock we call home. Many of you have volunteered to help out with this project. Just wanted to let you know how fantastic that is, to contribute to our community this way. Thank you, Cel, Kord, Adem, and Skar. Remember to keep your friendly neighborhood Quaestor and Aedile up to date on the progress. :D

DJB Brotherhood News:

DJB Fiction Update

We had a new fiction update for the Brotherhood as a whole come out. If you hadn’t read it yet, go read it!!! No if’s, but’s about it. This is highly important as it affects Arcona grandly, from our old and standing alliance with Tarentum to the inner relations of the Clan itself. It also addresses the current movement of Pravus and his forces as well as what the some of the other clans are doing. Knowledge is power and understanding as much as you can of the fictional universe the better. I can’t say much more without spoiling the details, so do the thing!

New DC Position

Along with that, we have recently seen a new DC position being ushered in. The Regent is the individual who will be heading the Possessions system and who better to fill this title’s roll first than the spreadsheet master, [Evant]! Congrats on the new position and great work, you and the many other folks who have been working diligently on this project!

Special Topic: Questions

I honestly was not expecting so many questions that present so many great thoughts. I will do my best to answer them to the fullest. As for what Special Topic is? I’ve decided to spice up from the norm a little, maybe share a Member work (with permission), insert a short and light-hearted fiction, etc.

Atty asks: Have you learned anything in your time since joining? If so, what would you say was the most important or valuable to you?

If I haven’t learned one thing here, then I’ve been missing out. I have learned a ton since joining: about the DJB, useful skills, and about myself. I say the most important would be learning to embrace criticism from others. It can be tough to do so, especially when we become for prideful over our work, but the advice others give are tools we can use to improve our work...even if it may take a while to sink in. cough comma restraining order. cough

Atty asks: What are you proudest of doing in your time here?

Of one single action? Becoming known as the TG greeter. I’m happy it brings some light and amusement to people’s day, not to mention it’s original intent of, well, introducing myself as a friendly and open individual.

Atty asks: *What's your favorite dessert? What's Zuji's?

Mine? Uh...cheesecake. For Zuj? Definitely chocolate covered fruits to eat, but as a baker she strives to improve her tarts.

Skar asks: What are Zuji’s plans for Shadow Gate now that K’tana has been promoted?

flails uh, uh...Actually, though. Zujenia likely wouldn’t change the tune up, much. Gatekeepers will still be out doing their thing without a strict military structure. She may assign more particular missions, perhaps feeling out who she can trust? With many Champions in the group, Shadow Gate will likely be funneling supplies through the port to the Resistance or helping other would-be victims/undesirables. However, with no certainty of who is who, Zuj would reserve these tasks for those she absolutely trusts or, again, use them to test out loyalties.

Marick asks: With Gateawardeness being a position that revolves around subterfuge, misdirection, and a lot of lying/deception, how do you think this will weigh on Zujenia's altruism and goals as a member of Clan Arcona?

Why you do this to me?! XD Alright, I answer one question that gives insider insight. So, I’m gonna pull a Terran here and RAFO you.

Marick asks: With all the subterfuge needed for the job, do you think Zuji will struggle with her own identity at all? She spends her waking life hiding who she is (tail), but now she has to basically get paid (ish) to wear different masks and organize a few individuals beneath her

See the above answer. :P

But for both of your questions, yes. All those things will affect her because CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!

Skar asks: What color is your toothbrush?

Toothbrush colored. :P
