Greetings Shadow Guard,

We had a slow month for activity guys. I know a lot of people get stuff done from time to time and this month is going to be different. It’s time to get busy. Clan Operation Starfall is a go. This one seems a little bit different than some of the other comps we have done lately but no less fun. We are tasked with taking over a mining planet from Sorusuub. This one looks like fun guys. I will outline each of the sub comps in the competition section.

Lots of new things in the DJB including new Dark Council Members and new Clan Consuls. Evant has been named the Dark Jedi Brotherhoods first REGENT! All hail the Regent. Wally has made the switch from Combat Master to the ever important position of the Voice. This leaves a void in Combat Master which was quickly filled by Atra. Turel has long been an upstanding Jedi in COU and has been rewarded with the position of Consul. Cethgus resigned from Fist very suddenly and after a long search the new Fist is Drac. Last but not least Aiden has been named to Consul of Taldryan.

On a non DJB Note. Baby Leia Rose was born this Monday at 2:30pm EST and weighed 6lbs 5 oz and measured 20 inches long. She is a very good baby and we are glad to have her.

OPERATION STARFALL

Background: Having assessed the clan’s capabilities in against each other, and against the other clans of the Brotherhood, the Emperor has decreed it is time for the Empire to look beyond its borders to the galaxy at large.

First on the agenda is the planet of Aesirus. This mining world is rich with natural resources, from rare metals, to rare crystals viable for lightsabers and advanced laser weaponry. These resources are vital to further build the Empire’s arsenal.

The clan must venture to the surface, establish a base of operations, and begin to work against the SoroSuub Corporation, which developing a massive mining system on the planet. With all of the ships and non-clan based military personnel left sitting in dark space beyond the edge of the system, the members of Scholae Palatinae, must find a way to take the planet without blasting the current occupants to death.

Operation: Starfall is the first act of the Clan Scholae Palatinae Order Campaign. This event will span four weeks and feature multiple competition types, with several sets of start dates.

Scoring: Each competition will award points for participation, and for placing in the top 5. These points will be totalled, with the top point earners receiving crescents in this parent competition. Winning submissions will also be worked into the closing fiction, and part of the official lore of the event, per discretion of the competition runner.

Each competition participated in will award 15 points. Additional points will be awarded for the top five submissions of each competition. Trivia will award 15 points to the two winners. These are:

• 1st - 30 points • 2nd - 20 points • 3rd - 15 points • 4th - 10 points • 5th - 5 points

In the event of a tie for points, it will go to the individual who participated in more competitions.

Starfall: Hunting for that Bling – Running 10/03 - 10/17

Objective: Discover the location of the Kyber Crystal Cave

The SoroSuub Corporation have mining operations in every cave worth mining on Aesirus. Somewhere is a cave rich in the rare Kyber Crystals. Obtain information on the location of this cave from the SoroSuub Corporation Headquarters. As the HQ contains many valuable executives of SoroSuub that may potentially be of use in long term colonisation of Aesirus, this mission should ideally be completed without triggering any security alarms to minimise impact on the operations.

Scoring: Minimum 500 words. Grading will be based off of the fiction grading rubric and adherence to the given prompt. Must be submitted as an attached file (.doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt). Shared GDocs will not be accepted, so if that is where you are writing it, when finished go to File>Download as and choose a file format.

Starfall: Resources Abound – Running 10/03 – 10/17

This is a TIMED event. Subscribing to this event will start the timer.

Answer the following 15 questions about MINERALS!

Grading will be based upon most correct answers, then total time to complete the trivia. Hitting subscribe will show the questions, and start the timer for this event. All participants will get 15 points toward the parent competition, and the two winners will be awarded an additional 15 points.

Starfall: SoroSuub’s Home on the Range – Running 10/03 – 10/17 Objectives: Establish details of the SoroSuub Compound. To complete our plan, we need to know details of SoroSuub’s base of operations on the planet. Home to all the workforce, and corporate representatives, control of the planet rests on turning this compound into our own. Establish a map of this base, along with key locations, and areas of weak security. Scoring: Minimum 500 x 500 image. Normal Image formats (.png, .jpg, .gif, etd.). Scoring will be based off of the graphics rubric

Starfall: The Life of a Miner – Running 10/03 – 10/17 Objective: Mining on Aesirus is a hard job. Caves could collapse at any moment. They have not been properly mapped, no-one really knows what might lie inside. The tide could flood the cave at any moment. Constant and absolute darkness. Describe the difficult conditions the miners face in the form of poetry. Scoring: Minimum of 15 lines of poetry required. Free prose is not allowed, must follow some form of rhyme or poetry style (e.g. 5 Haiku, or an ABAB Rhyme style). Grading will be based upon poetic composition, adherence to the prompt, and creativity of the poem.

Starfall: The Best Offense is Good Offense – Running 10/03 – 10/31 Play any approved DJB PVP gaming platform against any member of the club. Submit under this competition. Winners will be determined based on an unweighted PVP Score. Matches must be set up via the FIST-bot on telegram.

Starfall: Jewelanche – Running 10/03 – 10/17 Play Jewelanche on survival mode and go for a highscore! Screen shot your score and submit it as a normal image type (.jpg, .png, etc.). Highest Score wins.

Starfall: Take Over the Colony – Running 10/03 – 10/31 Objective: Together with your clanmates, take control of the planet in the name of the Empire. As the planet’s natural resources are useless without the expertise and equipment needed to mine them. We wish to use the existing operations to our advantage, not rebuild them, therefore impact to the functionality of the colony should be minimised. Utilise the various skills of the clan to accomplish this task. Your fiction should be split into chapters of at least 250 words each, from the point of view of a different character. 4 chapters minimum, from at least 4 different points of view. PoV chapters can be from the perspective of a clan member or SoroSuub NPC. Scoring: Minimum 1000 words total. Grading will be based off of the fiction grading rubric and adherence to the given prompt. Must be submitted as an attached file (.doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt). Shared GDocs will not be accepted, so if that is where you are writing it, when finished go to File>Download as and choose a file format.
