The Master of Rolls

Today, we had the sad duty of accepting the resignation of Nyssa "Bubbles" Taldrya as the Rollmaster of Taldryan. There's not a single person in Taldryan who doesn't know Bubbsy, and just how amazing of a person she is. She's touched all of us in her time in Taldryan, whether it is through her effervescent personality, her steadfast loyalty, or her alarmingly sincere devotion to her Brothers and Sisters in Taldryan. We're all better for having known her and it was this sort of dedication and wonder that she brought to us all, serving as our Rollmaster for the last three quarters of a year. Under her guidance, Taldryan's Journeymen have experienced a ground-breaking surge in productivity and advancement. But unfortunately, as is all too common in the world, real life has ruined something great. So, it was with a heavy heart that we see Bubbsy move on from the position of Rollmaster.

We need not truly fear though, because Bubbsy isn't going anywhere. At this point, I don't think anything short of calamity would pry her away from us, and I can't say how thankful I am to her for that.

So it is though, that Rian and I needed to find a replacement. Given the recent history of Taldryan, we both agreed that there really was only one real choice. It's a funny choice too, because if there was ever someone in the DB who whined and moaned about "having to do work", it was this man. But despite his belly aching, he's been one of our best, brightest and most active members over the last two years.

Obviously I am speaking of none other than the indomitable panda loving Dark Jedi Master Howlader.

Recognizing the inability for anyone to truly fill Bubbsy's shoes, Rian and I have been working on a new strategy for the position of Rollmaster within Taldryan that will hopefully take us to the next level of growth and prosperity. It will (hopefully) help us focus on greater levels of utilization of the Master/Student relationship, and will benefit the entire unit. Howie will be contacting the members of the House already in a Master/Student pairing soon with an update on what's coming.

So for now? Congrats to Howie on his appointment, and once again.. luv ya Bubbsy :)

Celebrating Taldryanite Accomplishments

This week saw a fair bit of accolades and rewards being bestowed on Taldryanites through the DB, so I just wanted to take a quick moment to celebrate their accomplishments.

First and foremost, as the Voice recently reported, our own Aidan Kincaid (aka Shad) was recently selected as the winner of the Hunt for Orv's Killer competition. Shad's Fiction can be found here and I'd strongly recommend everyone take the time to read it. It was very enjoyable.

Next in line was the victory of Taldryan's Fantasy Football king. I know we got to see the hilarious debacle that was Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Sunday, so seeing Alaris dominate the inaugural outing of the AFL was a nice cherry on top, congrats Alaris :)

We also saw a couple of promotions within our Journeymen ranks, so I'd like to congratulate Aiden Dru and Deidra on their promotion to Protector, as well as congratulate Dei on her Dark Cross. Well done you two.

On a personal note, I get to celebrate the reunion of the last of the Cantors into Taldryan. I've been trying to recruit Gryff into Tal for close to 15 years now, and finally he caved. So Gryff? Welcome home man :)

ACC Beta Tournament

So, the ACC Beta Elimination Tournament has finally come active. I don't know if it was always in the plan, or my offhand joke about a visible ladder being there was what did it, but as you can see the magicians over in code monkey land made it happen. It's a pretty stacked group, drawing 32 competitors in total, including some notable names from Taldryan. I hope you all join me in wishing Kazmir, Tarax, Alaris, Halcyon, Aeson, Quejo and Shad the best of luck in the tourney.

For everyone else, if you're interested in taking part in the ACC Beta for regular fights, make sure you've taken ACC Fundamentals and get Qualified.

RTFR: They Grow up So Quickly...

So, the last round of the RTFR has finished, and 'lo and behold? My boy Gryff represented the Cantor Clan honourably, taking first place by descrambling the clue and submitting Rahm Kota as the answer. Thanks to excellent participation, he managed to net himself an Amethyst Crescent. Next up in the series... Episode 10, They Grow Up So Quickly...

The Game is ON!.. With some Super-Secret Plans

Over the past couple of weeks, there has been a literal explosion in the planning and conspiracy departments within the Taldryan Leadership. Projects have been started, plans have been made, and we're working as hard as we ever have on various little things that will hopefully make a big impact on all of your lives. Rian and I have teams of people working on stuff all over the place, and even now, some of these things are starting to come to fruition.

The fun thing about this? Hard work begets more work. We'll keep you up to date as best we can on the developments as they come along, but suffice it to say, I personally think everyone in Taldryan will absolutely love what we're cooking up.
