Fiction Update.

Appius stood at the front of the bridge, carefully observing the lightspeed colors as they shot past the Axios. To say he was worried about this war was an understatement, as he was leading it himself in conjunction with Teebu, the House Ektrosis Quaestor.

The Proconsul’s worries had been high. When the communications were restored, they learned the horrifying truth about the destruction of the Taldryan base in the Holmes District of Port Kasiya. Fires burned and blackened the sky with ash and soot. Men and women lay dead clutching onto their weapons, their last act of defiance worthy of Clan Taldryan. The message, however, was clear, like it was written into the atmosphere itself.

Stay away, or else.

What made matters worse was that Appius had scarcely heard from the Consul in the last few days when this all began. The Grand Master requested her to assist the new Exarch with his initial duties whilst that society established itself in the Brotherhood, which left Appius in charge of Taldryan in her absence.

“Try not to burn anything down, Mandaboo.” She’d said, with as much sarcasm and derision as Appius expected from her.

Yeah… that wasn’t going so well.

Introduction

Well, that kicked things off in style, didn't it?

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my first report as Consul of Clan Taldryan! First things first, please allow me to say thank you for all the congratulations I have received. The reception I've gotten not just from Taldryan members, but from members across the whole club from the seven Clans, rogues, and Dark Council has been heartwarming.

So seriously, thank you all so much.

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank both Evant and Bubba for giving me the opportunity to serve as Consul, and I aim to do my very best.

I'd like to also give a special thank you to Erinyes, who served the Clan as Consul for the last 18 months. From Unsteady Ground to Unchained Malady, and not to mention Pro Bowl IV and the development of the Auxiliary Divisions, you have done a fantastic job. I hope you enjoy your retirement!

Lastly, Teebu and Crysenia. Those two have literally been my rocks for the last couple of weeks as we carefully planned the next Clan event. Thank you to the both of you, I thoroughly appreciate all your hard work thus far.

So, I'm sure most of you know me by now. I go by many names. Zappy, Mandaboo, Appius, that guy that seems to ask a lot of questions in the Tal and Fiction Chats… But IRL, I'm a guy named Adam. I'm a husband to a loving wife, and a father of two adorable children. (Soon to be three!). I'm a big Star Wars fan, as most of us are, and I'm looking forward to serving the members of Taldryan in the best way I can.

Clan Taldryan: Port Kasiya Invasion

Surprise! (Or not, I've literally said the Summit has been working on this for the last week or two. 😆)

The Port Kasiya Invasion event will take place soon! Very soon, in fact! The event itself starts on the 8th of October and runs until the 8th of November.

The way this event is structured is kind of like a blend between a Pro Bowl and a Vendetta. There will be three weeks of competitions divided into week long sets, as well as an event long bin. So you get week 1's handful of comps, then a few days gap wherein the summit will release a fiction update, then week 2's will start. Then another few days gap, another fiction update, then week 3's comps will start, after which we will have one final Fiction update for the event once grading is complete. During the Fiction updates I will handle Appius' transition into CON at some point since you will have noticed he's still being called Proconsul. Don't worry, that will be taken care of very soon.

(I actually have to thank Jorm here. The structure for this event was something he suggested a while ago. Thanks, man!)

A Thriving RP Community

I'm going to be honest, I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen when we opened up the Taldryan RP Chat, but it has exceeded all our expectations, and that's all thanks to you guys.

It all started with one single post from Jala, about 20 words or so if I remember correctly. From there, it has picked up, posts have gotten longer, and the Taldryanites who posted in it have earned Clusters of Ice! (Praise be to James for making the word counts so much easier to track.)

It's because of this, that once the Port Kasiya invasion begins, the Taldryan Summit will run an asynchronous RP's each week alongside based on the event itself! We will have more information on prompts as the event gets nearer in the coming week.

Proconsul Applications

Obviously, when I became Consul, I vacated the Proconsul positions. I'm sure you all saw this coming, so I won't delay it any further, Proconsul Applications are NOW OPEN CLUB WIDE!

Applications will be open for two weeks from today until the 17th of October, after which I will carefully review each applicant and select Taldryan's next Proconsul!

Serious answer: honestly? Someone negative. That sounds fairly obvious, right? But having a negative attitude can really drag down a team trying to work together, having the right attitude is a good step to getting stuff done.
