"Beards are impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything."

So this is going to be my first report as Consul of Clan Taldryan. I'm going to say, I have honestly been waiting for this day for a long, long time. I actually, way back in the heady days of youth, never was Consul before. I got promoted from Proconsul to the Dark Council, and left Jac in my wake... and now, somewhat fittingly, in the same week that I get Consul, Jac has run off to the Dark Council. Despite the craziness that has been sweeping the Brotherhood... this is actually going to be a fairly quick report, so we may as well get into it.
As I said above, and as I'm sure you all know, I'm now your Consul. I stepped into the role of Taldryan's XO nearly 2 years ago, and we've been fighting hard to keep growing and improving that whole time. I offer my most sincere thanks to Rian to all he did over his time in charge of Taldryan, and I hope I can continue to help lead Taldryan as it deserves to be led: with integrity and honesty, and a few ass-kickings mixed in for good measure.
Joining Howie and I on the Clan Summit is Halcyon, previously Quaestor of Ektrosis. Halc has been my right hand man since we reclanned, and I have often felt that our leaderships styles work amazingly together. Halc tends to fill in the weak spots I refuse to admit I have, and I tend to pretend I'm better than Halc at a few things to make myself feel better.
Some of you may have noticed recently that the rosters of the Houses got a little bit lighter... that is because the notorious Old Folks' Home has reformed as a whole, and has been reopened under the Clans banner. Now we no longer need worry about the corruption of the old folks and that weird smell bothering our new recruits. The roster of the Old Folks' Home is also currently listed as classified, with only Benevolent as its leader being noted on official documentation. This, I assure you, is for everyone's safety.
I'd also like to offer a shout out to Jedi Hunter Bobecc Varga, and Guardian Artorias, who have been appointed to the position of Battle Team Sergeant within the Wardens and Harbingers respectively, well done gentlemen.
Since Halcyon has joined me on the Clan Summit, there was for a brief, brief moment a period where Ektrosis didn't have a Quaestor. Even that moment was too long, because there really was only one option to take over the lead of the First House of Taldryan: Kenath Zoron. Fate smiled on Taldryan the day that Zoron joined us, and we've been grateful to have such a skilled member rise up within our ranks. Now he begins a new chapter of his own, leading his first House.
The first order of business for him, was to open the position of Aedile for Applications. If you're interested in applying for the position, please reference Zoron's report here, and refer any questions you may have on the matter to him.
As was pointed out earlier this week by some handsome devil, we got to see some cool new stuff coming out this week in the form of a new canon book, and the first comic in a series focusing on Princess Leia. I haven't managed to get into the comic yet, but I am seriously enjoying Heir to the Jedi thus far. Reading a story from Luke's eyes as he struggles to become a Jedi without having a teacher is pretty awesome.
We also this week got to see the finale of Star Wars Rebels. Rebels was a show that started off a bit slow to me, but as it grew more confidant in itself, and started focusing on telling stories and not just getting us acquainted to the new characters, I have grown more and more in love with the story. This has been one of the first attempts to tell Star Wars with BRAND new characters, having no crutches. Even in the Clone Wars, you had Obiwan and Anakin, in the prequels you had Obiwan and knew who Anakin would become... Rebels is the first time on screen we've had completely new characters unrelated to the trilogy.. and it took some time, but man do I love this series now. Without coughing up spoilers like one newly minted DA who will not be named, I'll just gladly state that the season finale of Rebels left me actively cheering at the screen, and I can't wait to see what else they have for us.
Oh, and StarWars.com just posted a cool need sneak peak at their next comic series, focusing on one of Rebel's Main Characters... Kanan Jarrus "The Last Padawan".
New Grand Master? Deputy Grand Master? Voice? Consul? Proconsul? New Ektrosis Quaestor? What a crazy ass week and a bit!
Most recent news, our resident Varga was promoted to Jedi Hunter this morning! Congratulations Bobecc!
Artorias was promoted to Guardian a week and a bit or so back, please offer your congratulations to him on that!
I would like to welcome Apprentice Rakim kalim to the Clan! He joined us a couple of days ago, and is now a member of House Dinaari. Please welcome him when you get a chance!
Rogue_13 joined us in February, and was promoted to Novice! Rogue was recruited by Omega Kira and is apprenticed to him, please join me in welcoming him!
Not a whole heck of a lot to say this week – all our journeymen are moving along nicely, which makes me very happy! My one piece of DBly advice? Take a minute to breathe. Great Jedi War is over. A whole boatload of new bodies are around in charge of things, so expect stuff to get even more interesting in the coming months. Try not to fall down over all the excitement!
Below are the highlights of our journeymen in the past two weeks!
Well, that's it for this week, Halc and I are going to start trying to do an alternating week report thing, so I won't be back for a little while, but I'm going to give you a preview of my next report anyways.
So, I'm outta here. Later folks!
