Congrats to last puzzle's top-3: Best Aiden, Yacks, and Rian. Art credit this week goes to Adam Middleton.
Welcome back to another edition of the Proconsular Reportage. In it, I summarize a few big news items that just hit the main page and point you to a number of events that are ongoing.
Most recently, the Grand Master has released TWO reports (to be fair, the second is part two of the first one). The important information in this one is that there are a host of changes coming to the club's fictional realities. Possessions are getting beta-tested shortly, which means that there will soon be a need to re-balance all the junk that each clan has accumulated over the years - this includes artifacts, troops, ships, etc... This possible re-set of our clan's status in our own systems and how we project power has been looming for some time now. As a trickle-down effect, that's kinda frozen me in terms of trying to push our clan's fictional status forward. I don't want to sink a lot of time and effort into cleaning up the various tails we have hanging around if it's gonna go "ka-boom" shortly anyways. Once things get settled, we'll be working to quickly push the clan into the new DJB.
In the gaming world, the GM has announced that we're beta-testing a new FIST bot for Telegram for PvP gaming. I'm personally very excited about this because I hate IRC (suck it Yacks) and I've been playing with the boy during its testing and it looks sharp.
Two of our clan members have just stepped down/tenured-out of positions in the club: Yacks from Recruitment Tribune and Seyda from Herald Magistrate. Thanks a ton for your work over the past months/years in those roles! As a pleasant coincidence, Seyda's position has been filled by our very own Rian! Congrats!
The Herald is asking for some feedback on graphics in the club. Check out the survey here.
The Combat Master has announced a few new courses in the Shadow Academy that focuses on the new Lightsaber and Martial Arts forms. As well, the Headmaster announced a third new course - Diablo III.
Here's a number of Tal-hosted/organized competitions that are on-going or soon-to-start for your perusal. I'd like to point out the Flashpoint: Teams competition being hosted by Bobecc. This is meant to be a bunch of short-timeline events for 3-person teams. The goal is to simulate some of the hectic-ness of the GJW to start getting us prepped for that (coming SOON).
These first events all end on July 10. Each member of your team gets points for participating and then your team totals get compared to other teams to determine placing. There is another round coming, so even if you can't participate in all events this go around, be sure to watch out for the next wave!
There's a few other ones out there that might interest the gamers and writers, so be sure to check them out on the competition pages. Be sure to click on the "Long-Running/Series" tab to look at them all!
In the last few days we've picked up a pair of live recruits who've inundated my email inbox with passed courses and activity. Make sure to give a nice welcome to Arivasha Ravenheart and Kade Jinnth. I look forward to seeing plenty of more activity from you two!
