Doing Our Best Oprah Impression

In the last couple weeks, the Summits have been doing our best to catch up on recognition for the Clan. To that end, we started tossing out DCs, ACs, SCs, GCs, and even a few promos (how we managed to pull the wool over the MAA's eyes on that one, I'll never know :P) To that end, congrats to the following:

• Halc started things off with a Dark Cross from Yacks for his work as Recruiting go-fer. He then scooped a Grand Cross for being himself.

• Ondur and Ringer followed things up with a pair of Anteian Crosses.

• Next came two members with very similar names: Kooks earned a Steel Cross while Kookimarissia earned herself an Anteian Cross!

• Rax scooped up an Anteian Cross for the tail end of his time as QUA - belatedly recognized!

• The Worst Aiden (tm) somehow got himself a Steel Cross. Howie was drunk on bamboo water or something.

• Then we got ourselves to Mark (aka Andrelious). He's been rocking it and got himself a new Grand Cross (I'll still call it "of the Dark Side").

• A few of our new bodies - Joe and Halmnack - earned themselves a few of their own promotions by virtue of meeting various requirements. Halmnack shot all the way to Proseltye while Joe is just behind him at Novice. I'm getting innundated with emails from these two members' activity, which is awesome to see!

• And finally, Raisty-poo earned himself a promotion to the final Equite rank - for him it's Augur. I had the mis-fortune of being the last guy to write my req, so mine was a little lamer than I'd like simply because I don't like repeating things that everyone else already has said, but the point of it is that Raist is awesome and he earned that promotion. Drinks are on him for the next month!

News

There's a few reports on the main page that I'll let you peruse at your leisure, but one of the important things to note is that there is a brand new Cluster that can be earned - where we have Clusters of Fire/Earth for gaming along with Clusters of Ice for writing, we now have Clusters of Graphite for creating art! I know we have a few very talented artists in the Clan who'll be availing themselves of this new avenue, so that's a very postive thing for us. Check out the Competitions section of this report for a few graphics-related events.

There has been some emailing between our Clan/House Summit-members (along with some Telegramming) along with the GM/DGM and some other people in the club (it's secret squirrel stuff at the moment). We've been discussing some big plot points for Taldryan's fiction that I'm getting pretty excited about, so hopefully we'll have something to you very Soon (TM). The intent is to link our Clan back into the greater DJB fiction as a whole and also to get us prepped for the introduction of Possessions as well as the next GJW.

Competitions

Bobecc's Flashpoint: Teams has just wrapped up phase 2. Phase 3 will be out shortly, so keep an eye there for the next set of events. I should point out that Yacko embarrased himself by failing to read the rules on the last round's Tetris event. Shaaaaame.

The Herald's five events all run until the 28th of August, so you have some time to get a few drawings/paintings/Paint-stickmen/whatever in for your shot at some CGs:

If you want to put your stamp on some club history, make sure to throw some names in for the many new stores for the Possessions system in What's In a Name?. Due date is the 27th of August.
