Thankfully, not a whole lot has changed this week in the Dark Brotherhood. As they say, the more things change, the more things stay the same. Today I do not bring you a weekly Aedile Report, but my first "official" Proconsul Report in over a decade. Because we are once again Clan Taldryan.

The Return of Clan Taldryan

Apologies in advance, this section is probably going to be sappy, and preachy, and full of my old man-ness. Today, after many struggles, trials, and tribulations, we were informed that Taldryan had once again risen to its rightful place as a Clan of the Brotherhood. Now, as warned... I'm going to wax nostalgic here. I was in Taldryan when it first moved from the old Independent House Ektrosis, to become Taldryan. I actually named it, way back in the day. Since that day, I've never considered going anywhere else, and have thought of Taldryan and it's members as some weird and creepy extension of my own family. There's nothing I won't do for Taldryan, and for its members. To me, Taldryan embodies a family, much as Muz said in his report... at times Taldryan can drive me nuts. I get angry and irrational, and I yell and I scream at people. But I love this place. It is my home, and I will fight for it no matter how much it may piss me off at given moments.

Over the past year and a bit, Taldryan has been reborn. We've gone from being a stagnant, and drowning collection of people, clinging to life, to a collection of people once again striving for that ideal that was once thought of as our birthright: greatness. It's taken the work of all of you, fighting and clawing your way to help Taldryan grow strong once more. Rian, myself and all leaders past have worked hard to bring us back from the brink. But our efforts mean nothing compared to the work of our members: you. You're what allowed Taldryan to be reborn. You're the reason we can once more proudly call ourselves a Clan once more.

This victory of ours? It's yours. You guys are amazing, and you're my family. Thank you, sincerely and from the bottom of my heart for everything you've done, are doing, and will do in the future. I thank you, and Taldryan thanks you.

Your New Clan Summit

Of course, one of the things that comes along with returning to Clan status is the reopening of our attendant Houses. I'll be honest, there was a brief consideration of stepping away from our old House names. By brief, I mean so infinitesimal that it barely counts, but it still existed. We are Taldryan, and we pay homage to the victories of our past, and we use their examples to drive us on to further glory.

In Taldryan, this of course means the return of two of the most prestigious Houses that the Dark Brotherhood has ever known: House Ektrosis, the only Independent House to ever be a victor in a Great Jedi War, and where it all started. Also returning is House Dinaari, the powerhouse that propelled its Clan to many more Great Jedi War victories.

Rian, Howie and I have gone over the rosters, and we have assigned people to the Houses based off past allegiances, and where we think you'll fit in the best. If you have any questions as to where we've placed you, or have a preference, feel free to email us and we'll answer your questions or arrange your placements accordingly.

What I am going to announce here is the make up of Taldryan's Clan Summit. This includes Rian as our new Consul, myself as our Proconsul, Howlader as our Rollmaster, and the Quaestors and Aediles of Dinaari and Ektrosis.

Prelate Kazmir Natas has been appointed to the position of Quaestor of House Dinaari, with Dark Prophet Telaris "Mav" Taldrya Cantor being assigned as his Aedile. Dark Prophet Halcyon Rokir Taldrya will take up the reins of Ektrosis, with Warlord Quejo acting as his Aedile.

Taldryan Possessions Update

Following the events of the Dark Crusades and Horizons, Taldryan found itself sitting on quite the war chest of fleet purchasing points. We had actually completed our purchasing a little while ago, but we've been sitting on the news for a little while, in expectation and hope of exactly today's events. There will be more fanfare along the way, but the first purchase I want to present to you all, is the acquisition of what will likely become Taldryan's new Flagship.

In a rare case, this purchase is being presented to you as an already named ship. Rian and I chose the name of this ship to fit with Taldryan's general capital ship naming convention, and also to commemorate this momentous day. Therefore I am proud to present to you... the Khyron-Class Star Destroyer Resurgent.

Other purchases that were made this time around include:

• A Rendili StarDrive Light Corvette
• 1 Squadron of Chase-X Starfighters
• 2 Squadrons of B-Wing Starfighters
• 8 Squadrons of T64AC4 X-Wing Starfighters
• 4 Squadrons of TIE Interceptors
• 2 Platoons of Scouts
• 6 Canderous Class Assault Tanks
• 1 Tribe of Massassi Warriors

In this round of purchases, we spent a lot of effort to bring our Starfighter corps up to snuff. We've actually been operating at under capacity for a little while now, and after this round of purchases, every available fighter berth is now filled. We also added some new tanks, which are hardcore death machines, and another tribe of Massassi. There will be some fictional development events concerning the new tribe coming in the future, as well as competitions to name the new squadrons and Corvette, so we've got lots of cool stuff ahead.

Congratulations are in Order

As much love as I have for Taldryan today, I would be utterly remiss in not mentioning the achievements of our brothers throughout the Dark Brotherhood. First and foremost, I want to extend my sincerest congratulations to the leadership, and all members of Plagueis, who join us today in becoming a Clan. Plagueis has seen a revival much like Taldryan's in recent years, and we all saw how amazing they were in the Crusades. So Monty et al? Congrats.

Also earning honours today was Pravus and Solari, who both recieved an Emerald Dagger for their services to the Brotherhood. Valhavoc was awarded a Sapphire Blade, the Deputy Grand Master was elevated to the rank of Dark Jedi Master.

Additionally, today marked the fifth anniversary of Muz's appointment to the rank and office of Grand Master. Head on over to Muz's report and share your congratulations for all of these accomplishments!

News Page Customization & Features

This past week saw some amazing strides towards customizing the news page to help transform it from a collection of random reports, to a more robust and centralized hub for both DB News, and Star Wars News. Along with this is the ability to filter the front page by your preference of what stories you'd like to see. When logging in, your standard view will be Top Level Unit Specific reports, and DB and Star Wars related news posts. If you look underneath the banner scroll at the top, you'll see a faint little menu saying Default.

Clicking that menu will bring up options to change your context, and view "Extended Default" which contains AED/PCON/RM Reports), Default (anonymous) which is just DB and SW News, and "Everything", which is unsurprisingly... Everything :D

Additionally, post tagging got added, which if you're at all familiar with.. well, essentially the internet, allows posters to add tags to their post regarding the content. I suggest you head over to the News Archive and play around with the options!

RTFR Results

So, I'll get this out the way now... there is no new RTFR this week. Essentially, I think we have enough awesome happening, and I didn't want to spread it out at all. As you can see in Howlader's Recent Report there are a lot of other competitions for you all to take part in.

Now, for the results of last week... I sent you all on a bit of a Wiki Hunt with trivia questions from Taldryan's wiki pages. Here were the questions asked, and their answers:

We had a decent amount of submissions, and I'd like to congratulate Aidan Kincaid, Halcyon Taldrya, and Gryffon Cantor for placing first through third. Thanks to all who participated.

Crusade Prep

I'm going to leave the report off on this note... the Dark Crusades, as gruelling as they were, were a crucible. Taldryan stepping up in such a big way, and coming together again was one of the best indicators of how ready we were to reclaim our place as a Clan. But we're not out of the woods yet. We've been told that by the end of the month, we're going to see more action in our fight against the One Sith.

Now is not the time to rest on our laurels. Now is the time to push ahead, and reclaim our legacy. Buckle down everyone, because even though we're now a Clan... the work is far from over.
