Introduction

Almost half a year has passed since the events that saw the downfall of the Taldryan Republic Senate Complex’s Administration Building, the fall of the Lady Second Cassandra Oriana Taldrya, and the rise of Lord Third Ood Bnar to the post of Supreme Chancellor. Following his rise, Taldryan was placed under martial law with full control being given to the military in regards to day to day security operations and going as far as taking control of the protection details for the Senators themselves. The military has since also extended its reach to the Traditionalist bastion on Kasiya, Caleria, assuming control of the city after threats of using it as a staging zone to strike against Port Kasiya were supposedly uncovered.

Surprisingly, there was little backlash from the Senate to either of these actions. Those within the civilian populace question what he must have offered to secure this level of support, with many echoing pro-imperial sentiments in how things are now being run being similar to that of the Empire. Lord Third Ood Bnar cautiously assures, however, that this is only temporary until the last of the unrest has settled down and the conflicts arising from the schism between the Loyalists and the Traditionalists come to a close.

This unrest has only continued to grow however, amplified by the sudden departure of the Traditionalist Leader Zxyl Bes’uliik who has been replaced by the last standing Consul before the rise of the Republic, General Seraine “Erinyes” Taldrya Tenama. She has called for an immediate end to the military control of Kasiya and the restoration of the separation of state and military as existed before his rule.

With Caleria now under Republic control, the power base of the Traditionalists has been shifted to the storm-ridden world of Ostara where the Citadel has finally recovered to full operational status with the city of Bastion having grown around it over the last four years under Zxyl’s careful guidance. Despite the Republic’s best efforts to learn it, the path through the storms is still a very closely guarded secret known only to a handful of senior flag officers. To date, every attempt to bypass the storms has resulted in the destruction of every vessel that has tried.

The Administration Council, now under the influence of Councillor Frei-Jar Binks alongside Supreme Chancellor Ood Bnar and Vice-Chancellor Raiheaux, has called for Ood to take this opportunity and seize Ostara to bring an end to the conflict despite not having the map to reach the surface yet. Jorm Na’trej, Chancellor of Chyron, has cautioned against this act and has threatened to unleash the full might of Chyron against Kasiya alongside the Traditionalist Fleet if they even lifted a finger in such an overt action. Yet the Neti seems to be more fixated on renovating the Colosseum and its surrounding districts. Something seems to be in the works, the Lord Third seems to have plans of his own.

Rumors have begun to circulate within the Office of Secret Intelligence that the Lady Second Cassandra has returned to the Caelus system, though she has not yet been sighted in any of the cities nor has established any trackable contact with any of the leaders.

Staffing Changes

Meleu has stepped down as M:CON due to RL constraints, thank you for your service to Taldryan. Expect the position to open up for applicants in January.

I’ve succeeded Teebu/Cassandra as TALCON. As such I’ve had to hire a new Proconsul. After quite the search, I hired Raiheaux (formerly Justinios Drake). He’ll be introducing himself below.

P:CON - New Name, Same Great Taste!

Editor's Note: This part of the report was written by Raiheaux from the perspective of Ood. Raiheaux takes credit, and blame, for all jokes, sarcasm, pithiness, irony, or scorn in the following introduction.

I’m happy to announce that Raiheaux is joining our clan summit as Proconsul. He may be more recognizable as the precocious Aleena, Justinios Drake. The scooter may be gone but Raiheaux brings experience at many levels of leadership in our club, excluding Consul (having avoided Consul may be further proof of how smart he really is!)

Raiheaux’s main contribution to this clan will be to ensure that I can take vacations without having to check in on the lot of you and playing the “Ben Wyatt” to my “Chris Trager” in all contentious discussions. (Please check the Park & Recreations wiki to understand that reference if needed.) I will also allow him to weigh in on fiction decisions and if you have any concerns with future fictional direction I will guarantee you it was something he convinced me to do against my initial objections.

The Year in Review

I’d like to simply show you all what we achieved together in the last year (2024):

Together, we earned 21,334,670 for the clan this past year. We experienced 18 promotions (these break up along the various tiers as: 3 Elder, 8 Equite, 3 Journeyman, & 4 Novitiate). We also gathered up 4 Seals of Loyalty.

In fiction, we collected 957 Clusters of Ice and produced an impressive 464,545 words in 2024. We participated 95 times in Roleplaying Sessions and acted as organizer 17 times. In the Antei Combat Center, we completed 17 matches and judged matches 14 times. We also earned 9 Dark Side Scrolls for DJBWiki activities.

In gaming, we gathered up 2,060 Clusters of Fire.

In GFX, we earned 1,389 Clusters of Graphite.

In the Shadow Academy, we passed 202 courses and earned 58 degrees. Additionally, we gained 22 Scrolls of Foundation and 1 Scroll of the Master for mentoring.

As you can see, we’ve been quite active this past year. I can’t wait to see what we’ll get up to next year!
