Greetings Members of Clan Tarentum,

Clan Tarentum.. a name I have not dared dream of in a long, long time. I have been in this club for fifteen years and every second of it has been within the hallowed halls of Tarentum. This is my home. This is my friends' home. This is your home. This is where the wishes of Lord Khyron himself reside. We have a very long history that anyone can be proud of.

But we hold a future in our hands that we can all be equally proud of. Clan Tarentum is on the brink of nothingness. The future and our past hang in the balance of what we do right in this moment and for the next six months at the very least. Do we fail, or flourish? That is up to all of us.

Tonight I address you as Proconsul of Clan Tarentum for the very first time, and hopefully not my last. As some of you know, this is the only position I ever truly aspired to within the DB. But the moment is bittersweet due to the leadership loss of my closest friend in the DB and our leader, SBL Scion Altera. Many of you were shocked by these turn of events. I was, also. And as much as some might dwell on this event, Scion has proven what a class act he truly is by offering words of encouragement to all of us as well as offering any and all help he can provide all members of Tarentum. At this moment, I'd just like to thank Scion for his long service to Tarentum in one form or another. He is an amazing leader and will always be considered as such to all members of Tarentum, past and present. So on behalf of the Clan, thank you.

But this report is not about the past, it is about the future. It is about what we must do to build Clan Tarentum into the powerhouse it once was. We have a very nice rough storyline thanks to SBM Samuel as Tarentum marches towards the evil path that we have strayed from. As many of you know, we are returning to what works best... pure darkness. Evil, evil darkness. Some have called us the "Horror House" in the past and that is where we are intending to do now. This will give Tarentum a theme from which to build on for years and years to come. From the newest apprentice to the oldest elder, this will be our legacy.

I believe in Tarentum and all members within Tarentum. We have the talent. We have the drive. We will have the numbers. I know you are all with me in this. Tarentum Momentum is not a saying, its our rallying cry. I look forward to our future. I know you do too.

NEWS

Now that the speech is out of the way, it's time to do some shop keeping. Medals are being submitted for the Clan tonight and tomorrow. I was happy that our turnout for the last GJW was higher than it was in the past, but we can do better. Much better. But for those of you who really showed up and fought for Tarentum will be rewarded. We will always make sure our members are rewarded for their work.

As we move forward I think it will be important that we are better equipped to compete in events such as those hosted during the GJW. So, with that in mind, I would like for Tarentum to have different comps running on a constant basis from all members. But I would also like to have at least three comps running on a monthly basis. I'd like for us as a unit to really train on the bread and butter of the larger competitions like the GJW. Those would be Fiction, Graphics, run-ons, and gaming. I would like for it to be each one to run for a single week once a month, or maybe one every two weeks. Say a two week fiction comp is run, with a gaming comp that is in place afterwards that is run for two weeks, then after that a graphics or run-on. I would encourage our elders to take turns providing topics and prompts that will really challenge all Tarenti, and in the end, make us better writers, gamers, and artists. This is opened up to comment immediately and I appreciate all input and ideas anyone has. I know you have them.

A big shout out to Frosty for hosting a JA Training session today! That is exactly what we need. If any of you want to make such a thing a weekly event (not just JA but other games too), please let your summit know! We can make that happen.

As you know we are Clan Tarentum again, but what does that mean for us? It means quite a few things, but the most immediate reality is that now Tarentum will be receiving just as many new members who join the DB as every other clan (not counting people who request a certain clan or were recruited by another member). That will help in giving us a chance to catch up to the other Clans as far as numbers go. But it will be important for all new members to feel welcome upon entering Tarentum. The Rollmaster needs to email that person as soon as possible and I'd like to see everyone else at least say hi. Especially if you are a Battleteam Leader. Reach out and offer you guidance and friendship. Help them ease into life in the DB and Tarentum. If they ask for help, give it to them! I remember asking my father about fifteen years ago how does he know so many people around town. He told me that he has never met a stranger. I thought that was an amazing mindset. Extend your friendship to the newer members because as all of us old members can tell you, we joined the DB because of our love for Star Wars, but we stayed because of our friendships. That is the key to building up our roster and moving Tarentum out of the doghouse and into the penthouse.

The GJW has wrapped up and the final round of GJW storyline fiction has been released. Please read, it has a very surprising twist!

All projects are currently on hold until the new Consul is chosen. Whomever that may be will be the one who will decide exactly what we need to do and who shall be doing it. But until that happens please feel free to brainstorm and come up with ideas and proposals for the new CON. That way when they are selected, we can hit the ground running.
