Sword's Sheath - Itanna Belt
The hum of the holoterminal was the only source of constant noise in the room, peppered on occasion by a grunt or muttered curse. The spacious albeit minimally decorated quarters directly off the base's library were home to the Tarentum Rollmaster and it was he that was emitting the infrequent sounds that broke the stillness. The culprit was likely something on the datapad in his hand as he lounged at his desk; it generally contained reports on the minutiae a member of the Headmaster's Staff in addition to a Clan's Rollmaster was expected to constantly deal with. Farrin often mused it wouldn't be an assassin or the Force that would fell him but paperwork, though he had to admit to having the same predisposition towards books as his fellow Krath.
The Krath Priest continued to scan over the report - a requisition from a steward within Castle Tarentum for more supplies to care for the ever-growing number of Journeymen under Farrin's supervision - but was interuppted by the sudden chirping of his holoterminal. Before he could move to silence it and resume his tedious paperwork, the holoprojector attached to it flickered quickly to life and the image of Raiju Kang and Darth Aeternus - the Consul and Proconsul of his Clan - appeared. Day to day communication between the three was common and handled almost exclusively by messages hurridly transmitted on their terminals; sensitive communication was normally via trusted courier. It was rare for them to contact him in this manner, and that rarity suddenly put a seed of concern in the pit of his stomach.
Whatever the cause, there were forms to be observed. Immediately, Farrin slid from his lounging position to the floor, one knee on the ground. Bowing his head, he spoke with a clarity to his voice that he did not quite feel, "Yes, m'lords?"
His Nautolan superior hid the smallest of smiles at Farrin's insistence on following the protocols, even though as Consul he had worked tirelessly to make the Krath feel more included as part of the Clan Summit. Now was not the time for such idle thoughts. "Rollmaster Farrin Xies, you are to report back to the Castle with all due haste. Your presence is required."
Farrin swallowed and steeled his voice. "As you command, m'lord." With that, the image of his two superiors blinked out. Rising, the Priest grabbed his utility belt, his hands running over the hilt of his lightsaber and DH-17 blaster in turn after he clasped it around his waist. Throwing his cloak around him, he took off toward the hanger bay; his Consul - for whatever purpose - had summoned him, and he would not be kept waiting.
Welcome to my seventh report as the Rollmaster for Clan Tarentum! I mentioned in my last report how we were doing an incredible job of showcasing that Tarentum Momentum we always go on about, and I think this last month has truly shown it. We've seen so many of our members, both new and old, really step up to the plate this month and I'm really proud of everything we've accomplished and continued to accomplish. When we re-Clanned, we knew it was our last chance. As we near the deadline Sarin set for us to proverbially put up or shut up, I grow more and more confident that we've shown everyone just what we're made of. We can always do better and we should always strive to do better, but I think we've proven that Tarentum is here to stay.
I'm going to cheat this report and shine my spotlight on two members, because I truly can't pick just one this month - the activity I've seen has been incredible. As I mentioned on the Clan mailing list yesterday, our two newest Journeymen - Itshim and Alexander Drago - have been kicking butt and taking names. Both have joined the Clan within the last week and neither waited for very long before getting right to work; in fact, Itshim is already a Protector, while Alexander Drago's already made it to Acolyte. I see a bright future from both of these guys, especially with great Masters like Pel and Zekk to mentor them.
Don't forget to be reaching out to friends you have, either in other online communities or in the real world, that might be interested in the DJB. Everybody loves SW (or should), so use that as a stepping stone! Additionally, and this goes for you old-timers especially, it's been a frequent topic of conversation as so many old faces return to Tarentum that it'd be really cool to get even more veterans back from the Rogues. Yeah, I completely agree! if you have a way of contacting former Tarenti, reach out to them and tell them that Tarentum needs them!
