No fiction this time, but I'll be back to that next week. The war has roughly two and a half days remaining for you all to get your entries in, as the competitions close at about 7pm EST on Monday. I would suggest doing some on one day and some on another, if possible. If your Battleplan or Runon team has been making progress slowly, now is the time to make a hard push to get as much done as possible, even if only for participation. Rumor indicates that this may be the last vendetta the Brotherhood will see for awhile, so this is may be your last chance for awhile to earn Novae for placing in a vendetta event, or the Seals that are typically handed out for participation afterward, each adding a solid amount of prestige to your dossier.
This is our final opportunity in this war to show the Brotherhood the might of Naga Sadow!
In this report, I'll first remind everyone of the competitions, which is really similar to the same part from last week's report. Then I'll list some news items from the main site page that you may find useful.
First of all, Sarin/Pravus has released Part II of the GJW Fiction. That post can be found here. You may find this well-written fiction inspiring if you have any of your own to write still.
Now, for the competitions. In my previous report, I added a lot of details about how I might approach each competition, describing something about all seven of them. If that interests you, you can find my previous report here
In no particular order, the remaining seven competitions are:
Fiction
GFX
Puzzle
Gaming
Run-On
Multimedia
Battle Plan
Once you're done with those, it's over! You can pat yourself on the back and relax for awhile.
Once you've checked out those, and made your plans for the final couple of days of the GJW, go ahead and read this section. I decided that, since the GJW is ending in a view days, I'd cover some things that might be important following that. Also, there may be a tadbit in here about the War.
The GM released a mini-report, entitled "Only so many Heartbeats." In this report, he talks about the War, reminds everyone to be careful to follow the rules, shares some interesting fan made movie trailers, and talks about some Star Wars news related to possible future movies.
Also, apparently Yacks is awesome and a great Recruitment Tribune. He does seem to be doing pretty awesome in the role!
Speaking of Tribunes, the Wiki Tribune gave us a brief Wiki Update. In it, he talks about how the wiki staff is bringing back the Wikipedian of the Month thing. Basically, they choose someone who has made excellent updates or modifications to the wiki, or added new pages. This month's recipient is V'yr Vorsa of Odan-Urr. I believe the award, aside from having your name featured all over the DJB website, is a Dark Side Scroll, which is otherwise incredibly hard to come by.
If you're curious about how this could be you, read the above linked update, as the second paragraph outlines how one could receive this award.
Also in this update is the announcement of the next Featured Article. A Featured Aricle is a quality article that is recommended by someone and then supported by others. This month, it is [Farrin Xies[(https://wiki.darkjedibrotherhood.com/view/Farrin_Xies). Is it just me, or does he look pretty smug?
Then the Deputy GM reminds us to not cheat. Seriously, don't do it. I don't think any of you guys would, but just to make sure, don't be tempted!
In Gaming News, there is currently a Star Wars Humble Bundle going on. This is probably the best value way to pick up a lot of old Star Wars games. For paying just $1, you can have Jedi Academy, Dark Forces, and Knights of the Old Republic. Jedi Academy is a major gaming platform that the Brotherhood uses, so this is a great time to pick it up.
And finally, in another Gaming News post, our Fist, Valhavoc, announced the beginning of another campaign in Star Wars Commander, entitled Secret Alliances. A Brotherhood competition has also been launched related to this, and you can find that here.
That's about it right now. Be sure to check the News page often, though I will try to give a weekly summary here for anything that might be missed. Finish strong in the GJW this weekend, breath deep, and maybe do a little celebratory gaming.
Just don't be like me and play Commander when you should be doing competitions, unless you're really good at time management!
