A blue glow filled Mako Henymory’s office in the Blackspire. The Proconsul’s office acted like a nervous system of intel, a multitude of screens displaying credit readouts, intelligence reports, and many other forms of activity tracking. Declan Roark’s hologram flicked yet shown brightly next to Arcia Cortel’s dimmer yet more stable one.
“Reports indicate Clan Fero is preparing to make a major military action. They are mustering most of their fleet and ground assets to a single location within the Ferosar System.” Admiral Cortel’s calculated voice rang clearly through the communication system’s speakers. A testament to the abilities of the Panoptes.
“I am tracking similar reports from our agents and their networks near multiple Fero holdings. The bulk of their forces pulled out a day or two prior, leaving behind minimal security detachments. A few of these reports mention a rumor that Fero is currently without a Spy Master,” Mako added.
“Concerning news, do we have any indication as to their target?” Declan’s image flickered, the quality of the sound was good but still had a crackling aspect to it. The Draylshy’a was in Zsoldos orbit, while only a select few other than Arcia and her crew knew where the Panoptes was. The difference in the communication quality was not lost to Mako. He made a mental note to ask Arcia again about those system upgrades.
Mako brushed a hand through his stubble as he spoke, “With the planetary shield erected, Zsoldos is not likely to be their target.”
“Reports indicate one of our lesser holdings in the system, perhaps one of our former bases.” Arcia interjected. “I suggest we gather more intelligence, directly from Fero’s holdings. Follow the credits to figure out their plans.”
“The rest of our Mercenary Company fleet arrived not a cycle ago. Sounds like a good test of their capabilities.” Mako expanded as he glanced over to a screen showing the Vizsla recent purchase transactions ledger.
“Admiral Cortel, put them to the task and validate those rumors, before Fero launches their attack. Mako, post a bounty to the Clan then take the Cabur and the War Forged Flotilla to prepare our defenses.” Declan and Cortel’s holograms vanished from Mako’s desk. The Consul had spoken, it was time to take action against Fero.
The Great Hunt IX is starting! Time to face off against Clan Fero! Great Hunt IX will feature two Phases, the first running Jan 31st through Feb 14th. We will take a short break to recover from Valentine's weekend/Gorefest and be back at it for Phase Two from Feb 19 through March 6th. Participation is key here as the event fiction will shift positive or negative from participation numbers. As always the coveted title of Huntmaster will be up for grabs.
I have been managing projects for the Clan, so might as well take this opportunity to talk about some relevant work the Magistrates and myself have been doing.

When I returned from being inactive back in August I asked a simple question. That question being what was fictionally going on in the Clan, what did I miss. Sadly no one seemed to have the answer so I embraced the advice of being the change you want to see. After pouring over a multitude of documents and reports I bring to you a summarized history of Clan Vizsla. You can consider this a sparknotes version of Clan Lore. Utilize it to catch up with what is happening with Vizsla without having to delve though old reports. This project is a work in progress, but the initial offerings are available for you to use.
Clan Fero is not as you may remember them. Sarin has updated and filled out the details on our great foes and subsequently I have updated their wiki. I want to emphasize that this is a major update and a complete retooling that sets up Clan Fero to be a long term recurring adversary and a fully fleshed out faction. Go peruse the updated Clan Fero Wiki page for 11 pages worth of details.
With a somewhat recent one question survey Sarin conducted, we discovered 22.7% of 22 respondents' characters identify as Mercenary being their primary identity in the Clan. So we tasked Esca with heading the development of our mercenary forces. The Mercenary Company side of Vizsla is where your characters get work and bounties from. The fleet attached to the company acts to support those jobs big or small. The initial fleet contains a carrier group as well as an assault group. We will be posting more including a dreaded wiki at some point in the near future. Feel free to utilize the Mercenary Company in your fictions and or roleplay sessions.
It is never ending….and with that said we are taking volunteers to help with this. Send me a dm on Discord or an email if you are interested in joining this project and helping us update our existing pages.

I’ve been really loving seeing all the competition entries and Shadow Academy courses passed over this month. Keep up the great work. I should probably start pestering Esca for some report graphics.
