New Orders, Ranks, and website graphics...Oh my!

So yea, unless you've been living under a rock you can see that we now have the ability to choose a new Affiliation. These affiliations range from Jedi, Sith, Grey Jedi (Dark and Light), Mercenary, and Loyalist. Just as a quick note, anyone can be a Mercenary or Loyalist no matter your clans allegiance. However for us glow stick wavers we must stay within the confines of what our Clans have chosen for us. For example in Odan Urr you can choose either Jedi or Grey. However if you are able to convince your House, and Clan Summit that you should be allowed to be a Sith, we will go to bat with you to the GM, DGM, and the VOICE. If you're sure that is the path you would like to follow, get with your House Summit first and we will go over a few things with you.

As for the website, you can choose a graphical layout to go with your choice as well. Kudos to Vyr for getting those graphics done, and the ever awesome codemaster James for getting all that code put up!

High Performing Organizations, Principles/Values/Purpose

For most of you it shouldn't be a shocker that I've just started a new job. Its shockingly different going to manufacturing. That being said, if you're in the USA and buy a Duracell 9V battery, chances are I helped make it. So how does that fit in with the title you may ask? Well during my orientation they hit on how the company was considered an HPO, see the long name above. Also they asked each of us to evaluate what our PVP was, again look above for the long name.

Crazily enough since their business practice did not affect how I make a battery, I started making notes on how I could bring this into House Hoth. To that end there will be a bit of a change up in the House in the coming months. The basis of Hoth’s HPO is that the ordinary member will help with the different aspects of growth. These will be known a pillars. For example House Hoth will have a Story and Competitions Pillar. These pillars are basically a pool for members to throw their ideas in for Summit considerations. Each Pillar will have a head member that will either be a senior member of the unit or a Summit member themselves. Basically I want the ordinary members of Hoth to decide the units story. This is my way of trying to do so. Right now I am trying to iron out the final aspects of it, including selection of who would be on pillars. All I can say for certain is they will only contain active members.

As for PVP, this is what you can offer the unit. Ideally this will be used by the Summit to let the members know what to expect from each Summit member. This is also something I would expect in applications for positions within the House so it wouldn't hurt to start looking inward at what your Principles, Values, and Purpose is.

Ranks have been reformed across the board. See the Grand Master report for details. Our local mobile Birch Tree Vyr has left us for the exalted position of Herald. Dont hesitate to swamp the HRLD office with requests. They keep saying they are bored and have nothing to do.

Odan-Urr News

With Vyr leaving for Herald, Alora has appointed former KoA Knight-Commander Turel Sorenn to the position of PCON. Welcome back home brother, can't wait to see your plans in action! We have recently chosen our three slots for members to stand at Jedi, Jedi, Grey. This means that we will only be able to allow members of those factions within the Clan without special consideration. It goes much deeper than that as it also affects the amount of new joins we receive as well. I do want to stress if you want to play as a Sith in COU, that you give us a well thought out proposition for your story arc and how feasible it is. If you have any questions please raise them with your local Summit!

Hoth News

Episode 2 of Butcher of Kamuikiko has kicked off. You have scant few days (Until Wednesday I believe) to get your submissions in. We have also already began to make our plans for Episode 3 of the event. Look for a certain QUA to experience a bit of multi-personality disorder during it.

As always I am seeking members Jedi Knight and above to mentor our new members. This is a position I take seriously as you are responsible for the lifeblood of the DJB. As Ive said before, you could have the next Grand Master in training. If you are interested send me an email. As an added note to this, if you're seeking a promotion, this is an awesome way for us to pad that recommendation to the MAA staff!

I'm leaving this the same as last month as well. As before I said it is a great time to be a Star Wars fan. If you're doubting that, you've been living under a rock, somewhere outside of range of radio communications for several months. Episode 7 in Dec, multitudes of books between now and then, a new season of Rebels, Battlefront in November, and a Mobile game in Sept(?).

That being said, get your geek on. Go talk to friends, or some family members about our little niche of the internet. You never know they may have interest, if not you've done nothing but spent time talking about something you love and enjoy doing. Ill tell you right now, in 30 years of life I've found there is no time wasted if you've spent it doing what you enjoy.

So go out, go get your geek on, and if you've never been to one, go find a Convention itll be the best money you've ever spent! I say this when I'm on the heels of going to a HUGE Con in Atlanta in just 2 weeks called DragonCon. If there are any other DJBers planning on being in attendance, let me know. Would love to meet up!
