Hello Everyone. Following some discussion earlier in our Discord’s #fiction-chat, and instruction from the Grand Master, we have an important policy addition regarding fiction competitions.
We have created a general guideline that fiction submissions should adhere to. Yes this is policy going forward.
To maximize readability and facilitate compatibility between computer systems and software, the following guidelines are in place for how a fiction submission can be submitted to a competition.
Plain text is always acceptable in the competition’s text submission box, however, it is highly recommended you submit by uploading a file. The recommended file format is PDF. Not all competition graders can open proprietary formats such as .doc or .docx.
Fiction submissions should also always be a black text color on a white background. Font selection should be kept to widely used serif and san-serif types such as Arial or Times New Roman. Title pages, character lists, chapters are acceptable but may be subject to modified word counts on your submission.

Banned, all of you
This is why we can't have nice things

Joking aside, can be black background with white text as well? Bright white hurts the eyes you see
May organizers add addendums based on their own needs? I've found through folks submissions that a light grey background with black text has been kinder and easier for my eyes. But the regular white and black is fine and manageable too.
Ah, I realized pdf readers can have dark modes, so that works. Having a uniform standard is good though. So we don't get the cursed yellow text on green paper.
Соундс доабле, но проблем. :D
