Hi all, we’ve seen an uptick on “fiction”-type competitions that utilize the ACC and RP systems to allow multiple authors. This is fantastic and we love to see it. After some clarification from James on how the competition typing systems work, I just wanted to do some clarification on these type of competitions.
The full “policy” can be seen here.
The basics are as the ACC and RP systems are built to automatically award Clusters of Ice, we don’t want those to be awarded twice. While it is possible to manually set word counts to 0, the correct way to handle this is to select Regular as the archetype for the competition, followed by specifying it as a Fiction competition to allow points and credits for society progress. The screenshots below show what this looks like.
These competitions can be treated like any other fiction competition from that point forward, including using the fiction rubric. If you would like to run a competition using either ACC or RP systems please do so in this manner going forward.
Thank you for reading. As always if you have any Fiction related questions, concerns, comments, or snide remarks, feel free to message me on Discord or send me an email [Log in to view e-mail addresses].
