Hello Everyone,
Just a quick news blast here regarding a new change to Lightsaber Forms. This one had been in the pipe for a while and was just deployed by James, so I wanted to let you all know ASAP.
Following the last saber forms update, Mav, Evant, and I had another discussion about how to better represent each of the forms. To this end, some additional changes have been made to the forms.
As you will note both Jar’Kai and Sokan have been removed as forms. Sokan has been turned into a feat that unlocks at JM4.
{{member}} has learned to incorporate the principles of ‘Sokan’ into their Primary Lightsaber form, by using the terrain, obstacles, and distance to balance evasive defense and kinetic offense. {{member}} utilizes the full battleground to their advantage.
Jar’Kai’s purpose of being able to dual wield sabers in combat has been rolled into the dual-wielding skill because that’s what it is.
The dropdown options in the CS creator have been updated to reflect this change, as well as list each in order of form.
The Lightsaber Forms wikipedia page has also been updated to reflect these changes.
This change did affect active character sheets. But, James did some migration to allow sheets to be updated with the different form types. If you were a user of the Jar’Kai or Sokan forms previously however, your sheet is now going to be marked as “invalid” and it will require an update. I recommend double-checking your sheet regardless, especially since it is always good to keep it up to date as a living document.
