After announcing Godzilla director Gareth Edwards as the leader of Disney's first Star Wars standalone film (character unknown), LucasFilm today announced that Josh Trank of Chronicle and the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot will be directing a second standalone film (character also unknown).
Says the article - "Trank states, "The magic of the Star Wars Universe defined my entire childhood. The opportunity to expand on that experience for future generations is the most incredible dream of all time.""
I haven't seen Chronicle but remain pumped for any more Star Wars movies.

Chronicle was awesome. I'd definitely suggest watching it
This is encouraging. They are finding talent in the form of people who respect the source material. I prefer this, as i said in my last post, to trying to take someone like Speilberg, or other famous name-brands. I am excited for younger, fresher minds taking on these projects, and it's awesome to think that a lot of these directors are me in 10 years from now.
