Thank the Force for the accelerated release cycle. It was only 3 and a half months ago that Episode VII blasted into theatres and began anew the love affair with the saga. Now, we have it confirmed that the process from theatrical release to digital and bluray release will only be four and a half months. Meaning that Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will be available digitally on April 1st, and to buy on Bluray on April 5th.

So far there is a lot of information floating around, as well as a bunch of options where to buy. The Disney Store is offering a Blu-ray/DVD Combo with a free Lithograph, and Target is advertising collectible packaging with exclusive bonus content. (packaging seen below)

And before anyone gets worried about the proposed April 1st release date, you can see the official announcement on D23.com as part of the notes of the Disney Shareholders meeting. So don't worry: less than a month until we can have Episode VII in our living rooms!
