Not sure if anyone else is aware of this, but I just stumbled upon an article over at Polygon that mentioned an Indie Game in development that "is the spiritual successor to 1994 space combat simulator Star Wars: TIE Fighter. Obviously this blew my mind, and when I got a chance to look at the video, being shown on the Oculus Rift, I nearly wet myself.
Oh, right. There's a video. And it's Amazing.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Are we on the cusp of a new golden age of flight sims? Gimme gimme gimme
Not to be the Debbie Downer (sorry to anyone name Debbie, but really your parents shouldn't have been so stupid), what are the chances since this is an indie game that Disney gives them a copyright smack down? I've been hurt before and its hard to trust news like this :P
I wouldn't know. A few of my favorite mods or indie developed games were given a cease and desist letter for doing exactly this (Two separate Lord of The Rings games/mods.) I haven't seen anything like this happening for indie-developed Star Wars games/mods, but I could be wrong.
Seems like nothing would happen until the developers start charging for the game and making a profit off un-licsenced Star Wars material. Still...very cool, especially with the Rift compatibility.
*Hums all the cool TIE-Fighter midi songs
