Mid-Competition Results!!!

Hello from Aiden Lee Deshra, Tra’an Di Plagia, and Rosalyn May. “12 Weeks a Haiku” has reached its halfway point and we have the Current score board here for you all to see. These past six weeks have been really fun, and we have seen a great many well written Haiku. We have an average participation rate of 14 submissions per week, which is great! Unfortunately, we have also had to disqualify several Haikus for not sticking to the Rules set up in the Parent Competition. Here are the current scores as of the end of Week 6!

As you can see the top 5 are all quite close, and the rest are a bit farther behind. Everything can change rather easily, though, as we head into “Week 7”. Up till now, all of the Haiku have been scored on a 20 point basis. We are heading into our three stanza Haikus, where each stanza needs to flow together into one comprehensive poem, and each stanza alone is worth 20 points, meaning a 60 point total for your submission. Our advice to all participants, be careful with your syllable count! If one stanza is off, the whole Haiku is disqualified. Even if there is no syllable error, one badly scored stanza can drag the whole score from a first place Haiku, to the last place Haiku.
