Vacation on Dagobah Results

Weekly Results

When we started planning this event, I honestly didn’t expect a huge outcome. I was thinking we’d likely have to push a few people for a few events in order to make it past ten entries. I figured the timing was a little late in the break to achieve as much as we did. But I was pleasantly surprised and fortunately wrong. With assistance from our PCON/Head Cheerleader Laren, we’ve run a relatively successful vacation event. Everyone give a round of applause to our Crescent winners.

Week 1 Placements

The first week had an excellent turnout. Almost every competition had 20 or more entries, more than double my expectations. In the first week, we received a total of 200 submissions!

Week 2 Placements

The second week was somewhat deflated in relation to Week 1, but every competition had no problem getting their 10 entry upgrades. With one fewer competitions than the first week, our second week netted 154 entries!

Finally, the Run-On had a great turn-out and I enjoyed reading everyone's posts about their time on (or in some cases off) Dagobah. I had some great participants but in the end, I chose these three as the Run-On Writer Winners:

  • 1st Place: Ronovi Tavisaen
  • 2nd Place: Dralin Fortea
  • 3rd Place: Areticus Altainatus

Overall Numbers and Individual Placements

As I said before, I was very thrilled with the turnout of the whole event.
Our combined event total reached a whopping 369 entries from 34 Participants! House Ajunta Pall provided 211 entries from 17 Participants. House Karness Muur provided 113 entries from 13 participants. We also had 45 entries from Plagueians not in Houses. I was very pleased to see such numbers and I’m proud of all my clanmates. Anyway, let’s move on to what you all came for.

I scored the event with the system described, awarding points for placements and participations. When all was said and done, our top five scorers managed to result in two ties, both of which were broken by quantities of placements. Join me in congratulating the Vacation on Dagobah victors:

Organizer’s Comments

Aside from the overall and individual competition placements above, another huge thing in this event was an "all or nothing" mentality. Everyone who participated really came out big for the event. This can be attributed largely, we believe, to the light-hearted nature and time-light nature of the competitions. Throughout the 34 participants, or 70% of Plagueis members, a whopping 23 participants completed at least 50% of the competitions and 9 participants did ALL THE THINGS!

Also the nature of the events meant that placement was relatively spread out among the weeks. No single person was consistently bringing home the bacon across the event. Although Misium, who took first overall, did have a strong week one performance.

<<o-O-o>>

As this was my first jab at co-hosting such an event, there was a lot to learn. Working with Furios and Teylas really made things a lot easier and coming out of this, I feel like I can serve the clan far better. Aside from the massive support from Laren and TuQ’uan as cheerleaders and the patience of my fellow organisers, what really made this something to look forward to doing again was all the hype and activity from all the participants. It’s one thing to run a competition and have a few members jump in for shinies or journeyman prerequisites, It’s another when over half the clan is in and blowing up telegram talking about it. So, thank you all for making this one of the best DB experiences I’ve had in all my time here.

Thank You

In Closing

As a Quaestor, I try to do what I can when I can to improve the club. It’s the point of being a leader and running events like these is a great way to keep everyone interested in the competitive side of the club as well as the social side. It makes it all worthwhile when the things I contrive are actually enjoyable, even when the setting is not. I enjoyed running this event and I intend to run more in the future. Keep being awesome, Clan Plagueis and keep in tune with the clan. Sticking together as a community is how the Brotherhood and the unit will continue to survive.

See you out there!
Furios Morega

P.S. I apologize for not putting a fiction on the end of this event, Real Life is getting pretty busy as I try to juggle a ton of necessary personal projects and the DB with work. However, I intend to leave the RO open for fun, even though it was cut off for the competition. You may get something from me in there so if you're interested, keep an eye out for some premium Fun Furios Fiction.

Thank all of you for putting this on, I had an absolute blast with it and was pleasantly surprised to see my name on a few of those competition placements!!

Nice! Kind of incredible that the top three placers had ties to break. Misium and Tahiri, well done.

This was a really fun event - I had a blast just doing some light competitions and comedic storytelling. Thanks for organizing this!
