Caldorous is a member of the Miraluka species. He is naturally blind, and typically wears something to cover where most species have eyes as is common among his species. Caldorous has pale skin with neck length purple hair.
Caldorous has been plagued by Force visions of the past, present and future for his entire life. The amount of time spent viewing the lives of other people have affected his sense of self, leaving him off balance and disjointed within his own body. While this free form nature allows Cal to more easily understand and adjust to his visions, he must spend time in meditation each day to ground his restless spirit within his body. The lives that he views leave impressions upon him, which can result in changes to his mannerisms or very being.
Cal Syr has returned from his exodus with knowledge of some of the ancient Jedi healing arts, especially ones that affect the mind. Using these ancient healers as a role model Cal hopes to be able to offer healing and act as a balm to those who have suffered trauma, especially his friends and allies. For his treatments Cal makes uses of his natural empathy alongside the Force powers of Telepathy, Healing and the Mind Trick. Telepathy allows for the scanning of some thoughts without being invasive. Healing helps to calm the nerves of the body and distract the patient. The Mind Trick, specifically a variant of the Force Interrogation, is used to delve into the patients mind to find information the patient may not want to or is unable to identify. Once that trauma is identified treatment is administered to help them cope.
Caldorous “Cal” Syr is very cheerful and happy, and always looks on the bright side of life. When chewing on life’s gristle, he doesn't grumble, but gives a whistle. He always hopes for the best, and enjoys laughing, smiling, dancing or singing. This unending optimism often improves the morale and spirit of everyone around him, and Caldorous “Cal” Syr is always quick with a smile or a joke, even when drawing his terminal breath. This same exuberance can also be tiring to more jaded curmudgeons.
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Caldorous “Cal” Syr's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
When forced to engage in combat Cal Syr attempts to face his opponent both mentally and physically. Using his Telepathy and Mind Trick to delve into his opponents thoughts he tries to learn about his opponent while they fight. He then tries to use his Empathy to talk an opponent down or, failing that, make them emotional enough to make a mistake. This style of combat is meant for drawn out fights and is less effective when combat needs to occur in a short time. Furthermore Cal's preference for non lethal combat may irritate certain comrades who enjoy more violent conflict.
It is said that the Dragonsnake "waits below the surface of the water until it can catch its next prey." This form seeks to emulate that as the user remains still when movement is not required in order to conserve energy. The user employs the deceptiveness of Niman to lull their opponent into thinking they are unprepared or unwilling to fight. But when conflict is necessary they strike with the precision of Makashi. This form is a fusion of Niman and Makashi which emphasizes conservation of energy as well as precise and fluid movement. This form is meant to be a close range defensive style that employs sudden quick counters. It lacks options when a user needs to close long distances forcing the user to block attacks as they slowly advance. It lacks the acrobatic motions of other forms so users will find mid air and pursuit combat to be difficult.
