Like all Kel Dor, Kor has large extrasensory organs which frame his head and culminate in two black tusks below his chin. He is always seen wearing his breathing mask and protective goggles, both constructed of a shiny black metal which obstruct most of his face. The rare times he removes his goggles reveal his beady silver eyes. His skin is a pale, almost sickly shade of yellow, stretched taut over his thin but mildly muscular frame.
Despite whatever all his other characteristics may convey, Kor Vaal retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in his body language - his walk, his stance, his expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems he borders upon narcissism, especially judging from how much he enjoys his own company.
Kor Vaal is obsessed with the arcane and esoteric, and he has devoted himself to the acquisition and study of occult lore and artifacts from all races, cultures and beliefs. Whether a tome of ancient Sith magics or an idol from a long extinct civilization, Kor Vaal will use any means necessary to add them to his collection, whether this involves murder, disobeying orders, running into a burning building or charging headlong into a hopeless fight, and should the item be destroyed he will do everything in his power to bring retribution to those responsible.
Of all Kor's powers and abilities, it is his skills at divining future events which he relies upon most heavily, frequently enacting ancient rituals meditating for hours to ensure he can use his Farsight to full effect, while putting great trust in his Precognition to keep him safe. When he can, he often combines these with other esoteric divination practices, such as using stones carved with Sith runes and mists similar to those used by the Findsmen of Gand. Whether these practices truly offer insights into the future is questionable, but Kor utterly believes in his abilities. Should events deviate from what he has foreseen he can often become enraged, and will seek to lay the blame on anyone other than himself.
Kor’s obsession with both the past and the future are a boon when it comes to certain situations. When he’s unearthing and researching ancient artifacts, cross referencing historical documents and practicing new or altered rituals, his hyperfixations give him an almost supernatural drive and focus. This does mean that, outside of combat, Kor can struggle to stay focused on what’s happening in the moment and can become easily distracted by the simplest things. An old statue on a superiors desk or even a word or phrase that triggers a memory of a Force vision he’s had can leave him completely zoned out, his subconscious mind nodding along to orders and plans he only half hears.
Kor Vaal practices a particularly aggressive form of Niman which incorporates a number of ideas and principles reminiscent of his background in Form V. While his style retains the casual and invulnerable demeanour of classic Niman and its predominant tactic of striking after parrying an enemy attack, it places much more emphasis on intimidation and forward motion. He has no issues with striking first, and has learnt to incorporate pushes and pulls with his Telekinesis as well as a small number of reverse grip maneuvers to unbalance and confuse his opponents. This style is particularly useful against aggressive styles of Lightsaber combat, though its reliance on parrying and countering opponents attacks means it is less effective against highly defensive styles like Soresu.
Physical strength is not a gift Kor Vaal has been blessed with. When it comes to combat he relies on his skill with a lightsaber and his force powers to overcome his enemies. Should he not have access to these he can find himself with few options with which to best his opponents.
