Summary

Members of Plagueis and Odan-Urr are invited to participate in this five week long feud, which contains twenty unique competitions to choose from. Each competition can be found in a bin. Each competition has its own point total and grading criteria, for which details will be provided in each separate competition. Plagueians and Odanites will vie for an overall placement in the top five, becoming Heroes of the Feud.

This event runs from Feb, 27th, 2021- March 31th with two event phases:

• Phase 1 of the COU-PLA feud runs from Feb 27 until Mar 13th.
  
• Phase 2 of the COU-PLA feud runs from Mar 17th until Mar 31th.

Participation

Competitions in each Phase are divided into competition types, or 'bins'. The first time a member participates in a competition within a Phase's bin, that member is awarded the participation points associated with that bin. In addition, members earn bonus participation points by participating in at least one competition in each bin, thereby achieving full participation for that phase.

More concretely, here are the bins in each Phase:

• Phase 1 bins: Fiction, Miscellaneous, Graphics/Multimedia
  
• Phase 2 bins: Fiction, Miscellaneous, Graphics/Multimedia
  
• Event Long Phase bins: Fiction, Gaming
  

Phases will each grant an additional 3 participation points for completing all bins in a phase. Individual competitions still award credits and members will earn crescents if they place in the top three and placement points for top 5.

Placement

Placement points will be given to the top five finishers in each competition. If a competition receives fewer than five entries, the leftover placement points will be evenly distributed among the participants. The total pool of available placement points is based on the number of participation points, so the more people participate, the more placement is worth. The placement points will first be split between competitions (see each comp write-up for details), and then among the top five finishers:

• First place: 32.2%
  
• Second place: 24.4%
  
• Third place: 18.6%
  
• Fourth place: 14.1%
  
• Fifth place: 10.7%
  

In addition to the placement points above, crescents are awarded for placing in the top three. In accordance with the directives governing Feud Events in the Brotherhood, the event will begin at Tier 2 Crescents (and relevant modifiers, e.g. for low effort or for >10 participants, still apply), and are organized under this parent competition. This parent competition will award Novae to the first, second, and third placements respectively, according to the individual leaderboard.

Rules and Grading

The rules for placement in individual sub-competitions are covered within their descriptions below. Objective competitions will be graded blindly, while more subjective competitions, such as fiction and graphics, will receive feedback and oversight from outside Dark Council members.

The weight for placement of each competition is described within the competition.

Tiebreakers will go off of Olympic scoring, most first places then most second places etc. In the event that this does not break the tie, the person with more completed competitions will win.
