A long, long, time ago … I mean it was back in 2014 … A wild Nobilus joined the Dark Brotherhood. Today, exactly 11 years ago to the day, I get to promote said Nobilus to Equite 4. I quite like the symbolism here. A well earned promotion, as you will read below:

In the last 16 months, Nobilus has been quietly chugging away at being active. He has organized 7 competitions, co-organized another one and participated in 451 other competitions. He has earned 75 Crescents (5 Diamond, 8 Ruby, 18 Amethyst, 21 Sapphire, 15 Emerald, 4 Topaz, & 4 Quartz). He’s also been awarded the Sapphire Blade and earned 9 Seals of Transcendence during the 16th Great Jedi War. He’s also ranked up across the various societies 3 times. In the Shadow Academy, he has completed 17 courses and acquired 9 Degrees. He also served two months as Magistrate to the Taldryan Consul.

Nobilus is one of those lurkers in our social channels. Always there to throw in an insight or observation before fading into the background once more. He’s one of the steadfast presences in Taldryan and one of the cornerstones of our social scene.

Congratulations Nobilus, especially on this day! You earned this, enjoy it!

Does anyone ever get tired of seeing these messages? I know that when it comes to promotions or to awards, knowing that someone has met those requirements always gives me the warm and fuzzies. Because, contrary to popular belief, it isn't because I have a hairball, but because I know that I get to do something nice for someone I care about. In this instance, it's Sivall aka Tor. This member has been a singular entity in Odan-Urr. She's gone above and beyond to help welcome new members, she has mentored one of our new BTLs to Knighthood and continues to teach without regard for time. This is on top of over 3000 words of fiction, almost 8000 words of roleplay writing, nearly 5000 words as a DM, two Amethyst Kukris, 1 Sapphire Blade, an impressive 39 Crescents (7 Ruby, 6 Amethyst, 11 Sapphire, 6 Emerald, 6 Topaz, 3 Quartz), 59 Clusters of Fire, 41 Clusters of Ice, 45 Cluster of Graphite, 10 Society Ranks (1 GMRG, 1 INQ, 2 Shroud, 4 ACC Participant, and 1 each in the two Envoy paths).

Add this to the fact that Siv spent 13 months on both the Emissary and Herald staff, 4 months as a Quaestor, I would say that Siv is more than ready for her promotion to Equite 4. This singular member has proven that she is a capable leader, a capable assistant to Councillors, and a leader within whatever Clan she has chosen to be a part of.

Well done and well earned, Siv. I look forward to what you'll get up to next.

Sivall goes above and beyond to make everyone's experience as enjoyable as possible, whether by working on Club-wide initiatives as a Council staffer, looking after her Clanmates as a Summit member, or supporting other members by showing up. In short, she's here to help.

That attitude makes the Brotherhood a place that people want to be. Maintaining that attitude is the sign of a leader. Sivall should be recognised as such, and this promotion is an excellent way of doing so.

Siv has always been a pleasure to work and play with. Back when I was beside her on the summit to when I stepped up above, she was a steady force of activity, advice and reliability. Whether it was her personal engagement or as a leader crafting up stories and ideas for our characters and our community, I happily put Siv among those most dedicated to #OneBrotherhood.

I've spoken before in awards on everything Siv is as a person and it stands to this day. I won't spend forever chatting on about it again but thank you Siv. Across the galaxy, you are remembered and beloved. Enjoy this progression up that one extra step. It won't be long before I'm reading your next promotion and it'll be just as well earned as this one is. Your patience, kindness, creativity and sheer determination won't let it be anything less. There's little I can add to this glowing promotion request that isn't said already, however I'm inclined to add my own thoughts for posterity.

Siv hasn't been with Sunrider for very long (since September) and yet despite that she has been a positive and joyful addition to the unit. Our House is facing a brand new start — getting built from the bottom up once again — and all I've ever gotten from Siv is cooperation and a willingness to engage with the stories and the content we're building. She is always willing to chat and to participate in competitions as much as she is able,to give advice or jump in and give new ideas for the House storyline. She is a leader without a position and a positive and encouraging voice in the membership.

Finally, Siv is one of the best members we have in COU, and I expect great things from her in the future.

Benn Nevis has reached the required 44000 XP to reach the rank of Equite 4.

Again it is my extreme pleasure to write such a landmark recommendation for someone. Equite 4 is one of those milestones that always feels good to hit. It's a feeling you remember for a long time to come and Benn has earned the right of it by way of being generally bad ass and taking names while he does it.

His tenure since being promoted two years ago has been busy, busy, busy. He's gotten an Amethyst Kukri, three Sapphire Blades, a ton of Crescents (3 Diamond, 8 Ruby, 13 Amethyst, 12 Sapphire, 13 Emerald and 3 Topaz) to go alongside his 3 Clusters of Ice and 119 Clusters of Graphite.

Let's also not forget that he's done 167 competitions with 131 of those not being containers. And there's also 7 Society ranks, including 4 in the ACC Participant path.

Needless to say, I think Benn is more than qualified for a promotion a long time in the making. Congratulations, Benn. Drinks and snacks are on you this weekend!
