Additionally, he has passed 23 Shadow Academy Courses. Beyond this, he led the 4th place team in the recent May 4th event and has been a regular source of activity on Discord.

Raken joined the DJB shortly after I returned post-Exodus, and we worked closely together during our joint time on the Plagueis summit. I knew then that he was a rare talent and also a remarkably clearheaded leader. He went on to bigger and better things, up to and including DGM, but I think his most lasting impact on this club was his work on the Vongunknown aliens war and its aftermath, making them major events and marking a real break with the first decade of vendettas. Our vendettas have never been the same.

The Rank of EL 3 is one of the most difficult ranks to obtain in our club. It is shrouded in intrigue and mystery because not only do you need the XP to reach the rank, but you also need the mythical "and additional requirements" tag to be promoted.

Raken is the definition of "additional requirements."

Raken has served from BTL to Deputy Grand Master in our club. Along the way he revolutionized the way our club views fiction, plot, and story content. The reason we have the position of Voice: Raken. The reason we have character sheets: Raken. The reason we have Vendetta's that are major fiction events: Raken. The reason we have orders and disciplines: Raken (he build the systems after a 20 minute conversation). The standard for creating a planetary system for Clans and the DB: Raken (see the Antei Document).

Raken dedicated years in the Dark Brotherhood to create fictional content that changed the way our club operates. He wrote fiction for 4 Dark Jedi Brotherhood Vendettas, created the precursor to the "enemy faction" system that we now use, and helped shape DB lore and history. He was also a key driving force beyond taking a Vendetta from a big competition to an actual EVENT that used meta gaming, videos, teasers, and tricky little things like shutting down the website because the DB was being invaded (still love that we did that).

The DB can never have enough creative talents. Raken was THE creative for a period that spanned over 5 years in the Dark Brotherhood. His impact is that of a Grand Master. A promotion to EL3 is more than deserved and was more than earned.

When I rejoined the DJB in 2006, Kir was already a legend, having served as TalCON and then helped pull Plagueis together from the wreck of the Clan Satal Keto / Exar Kun merger as DGM-CON. My first real interaction with Kir, though, was as his first Right Hand of Justice. Firefox picked me for the job just days before he retired, and Kir quickly swept in to pick up where he had left off. Kir was immediately welcoming and encouraging, and he set a standard of diligence and careful, evenhanded deliberation from day one.

I will never forget the night (and subsequent weeks of fallout) of the infamous Bane incident, in which a disgruntled member managed to trick the MAA into giving him control of Sarin's dossier. Bane removed the DGM and set about trying to take over the entire site. Jac and others spent literally all night trying to contain the damage, and once that was done Kir took over. It was his first case as Justicar (and my first as RHoJ), and without a doubt the most severe up to that point. Kir led the investigation and proceedings with a professional calm that clearly demonstrated the Chamber was capable of handling important, emotionally fraught cases fairly and expeditiously.

He went on to serve in that role for many years before finally stepping back. For his troubles, he was promoted to EL3, make a Sith Lord, and awarded a GLS. From my personal experience working with him, I'm confident he deserved that and more. Today I'm happy to give him one more promotion.

It has been many moons since Kir has roamed these halls, and yet his presence can still be felt within the foundation of this club. When one has been a long-time Consul, Deputy Grand Master and Justicar, one does become a part of the tapestry of the club.

It's a common refrain of many during this era of the club, but Kir has always wanted what was best for this club and its members. It was never about what he could get out of it, but what could he do to make things better for others. Leaders such as him don't actually care about the medals and promotions. What they do care about is ensuring that this club is a place for everyone, and that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy themselves.

So, with those platitudes out of the way, please don't forget that Kir's a complete bastard, but he's out bastard, and is more than deserving of getting another notch on that e-peen. Congrats!

My first encounter with Kir was way back in the year 2000. He was awarded a Dark Cross for having "performed many nitpicky duties and I believe I should reward him. After all, he shines my shoes, takes the lint from my cloaks, generally making me respectable, well at least presentable" by his Quaestor(?) Alex. I believe that his future in our little club was secured by encouraging him with awards - and he would continue to perform these menial - and not so menial - tasks over the coming decade and a half. By the time I came back to be a space wizard in 2008/2009, Kir had settled into role as Justicar and was by all accounts a pain in the ass to those that wanted to be shifty, or in the case of me, old and also a bear. Kir's professionalism when performing his leadershippy and Justicarly duties, and the overall professionalization of the position of Justicar and the way the DB does it law-business has been an inspiration to his successors, and to those that aspire to holding the position.

I am, however, not one of them. I still regularly complain about Kir and his professionalization, getting in the way of my desire to fire people out of a cannon. Stupid Kir and his stupid rules and his desire to see the good in people and have them continue in our club.

For his enduring legacy in our club, Kir is promoted to the next rank until we have to make a new one for James. Congratulations Kir, and I hope you don't read this!

Halc has done basically everything in this club over the past 23 years and, for some reason, can't seem to permanently retire. He's been DGM (twice!), CON and PCON several times, and various flavors of House and BT leader, plus many DC staff jobs over the years. Even as a crusty old Prophet, he helped to launch the possessions system and has served well as both P:Regent and P:MAA. He's also found time to participate in basically all of our recent vendettas, putting on a strong showing for Clan Rogue.

Mostly, though, he annoys Howie, and that is the mark of a true elder.

In another universe Halcyon would be a Grand Master. The fact that he never became a Grand Master is one of my greatest regrets in the Dark Brotherhood. In the old days of 2006, 2007, and 2008, Halc was involved in nearly every key discussion concerning the future of the Dark Brotherhood. He was a trusted advisor to Jac, myself, and Muz. His input helped shape the way the Dark Brotherhood would evolve and in particular shaped the way Vendettas were conducted. We can see his impact to this day on the level of work and detail expected in a GJW or Rite of Supremacy.

Beyond those years, Halc has silently, and often without expectation of award, served in an insane amount of leadership positions throughout the Dark Brotherhood. His work includes Combat Master, Wiki Staff Member, Consul, Voice, Shadow Academy Professor, ACC Judge, Right Hand of Justice, Recruitment staff, Deputy Grand Master again, Proconsul (several times),and appeals panel. In other words, Halc has basically worked on nearly every aspect of our club....and I say it again, has done so without any real expectation of gratitude or award.

Halc loves the DB and for that and all he has done, he is an example of what an EL4 is and should be moving forward.

Halcyon. Halcy. Halcy von Doodle. Lord of the Bias. Darth Vires (yes I went and looked it up). Clifford the Big Green Halc. There are many many names for one hell of a Dark Brotherhood member. Most recently, and close to my job, Halc has served a MAA Magistrate - for just over three years. He makes sure that my ever decaying brain doesn't approve or deny something stupid, all the while reminding us (Howie and Mune) of the context of some of the mid-2000s Brotherhood that I was asleep for. Promotion to JamesRank is entirely proper for a member of his status, and Sarin has detailed his lifelong contributions to our Space Wizarding Foundation Club Thing.

But because I'm me, and I like roster stats, let's do that. Since his last promotion in 2011, Halc has organized 69 competitions, participated in 626 competitions (yes I went and counted), and earned a Silver Sash, two Ruby Scepters, two Amethyst Kukri, four Grand Crosses, six Steel Crosses, one Anteian Cross, seven Dark Crosses, like 200 crescents, almost 20 Novae, and enough GJW Seals and competition Crescents that nobody should ever bother counting because it's too god damn many.

It never felt right that I outranked Halc. I mean - look at him. He's Green, he's done every job in the DB, and he's generally awesome and yes, we even say that to his face. He's a good Halc. Congratulations on your promotion to JamesRank because I don't remember what it's called and I am not learning it now.

Cello has been a silent titan in CSP for many years. When I am reviewing my emails, I see his name appear in far more places than I expect. He's always on top of things, but never brags or boasts.

Since his last promotion, he has participated in 128 competitions, earning 5 crescents, 36 clusters of Graphite, and 2 seals of Trancendence. He's passed 9 SA courses. Ranked up in the Shroud Syndicate. and he's earend 409840 credits for Clan Scholae Palatinae.

Although Cello isn't the most vocal of our members, his impact is constantly felt. His contributions to Clan level competitions have bumped many up to the next level. I am grateful for his continual positive impact on the Clan and am so proud to see him advance to the next level of the Equite Ranks. Congratulations to you Cello! Well Earned!

Not only do you constantly kick butt in competitions, having done 62 since your last promotion; with 241 Clusters of Fire in addition. Youve also contributed to 4 separate RP events, adding in almost 2500 words and earning the Republic an impressive 111k credits.

As this is your Equite promotion however, I want to recognize something else. Reaching the equites is a feat of itself, demonstrating growth and continued commitment.

And that growth which I want to recognize, is your overall dedication and commitment to Taldryan. In Discord, you have been incredibly social with everyone from the Clan all the way to general chat, always and ever eager to play games with people. (Myself, even, though my schedule around that time of day prevents it).

You always seek out new things, wanting to grow and develop yourself further which can no further be evident than your drive to help make Taldryan the great place it is; offering advice and being helpful to other members, opening trying to involve others in things you do, and even remaining here because you adore our community and the people within Taldryan so much, even when other clans fit your style and focus as a member better. Despite that, you remain with us carving your own niche to help yourself fit better and using that as fuel to push others.

For you are the embodiment of what it means to be a Brotherhood Within A Brotherhood. What it means to be Taldryan. Because without question, Taldryan is a better place today because of your efforts.

It hasn't been that long since Nemo was last promoted, but in the 4 or so months since his last elevation he has racked up an extraordinary amount of accolades.

He has competed in 225 Competitions, Taking home 4 Cr-D, 4 CR-R, 18 Cr-A, 7 Cr-S, 6 Cr-E, and 1 Cr-t and 1 Cr-Q, He's completed two fictions for over 5000 words written, earned 10 clusters of ice, 8 clusters of Fire, ranked up in societies 3 times, and earned a scroll of the master.

Nemo has gone above and beyond the participation game as well. He's become an integral part of our community, helping one of our newer members through the Journeymen ranks to Knighthood. Nemo has been engaged on just about every front and he's brought with him a vigor and excitement for getting involved in what the Clan is doing. It is always exciting to see Equites grow into the core of the DBs personnel assets, but it's a real pleasure to see them do so while having fun. Nemo have been a great asset to Clan Scholae Palatinae and we are very glad to have him.

His insight and interest has helped push forward other members of the Clan. Serving in this informal mentoring role is really the aim of an Equite as they push forward towards Elder. With this promotion, Nemo will take one step closer to those hallowed ranks and I am absolutely certain that he will do so with poise and class as he has done in achieving this rank. It's been great having Nemo apart of our Clan. He has been incredible active and it's a priviledge to see him progress so far since his return to the Clan. Since his last promotion, he got 3rd place overall in our Clan's recent major event of Chapter 2: The Coming Storm. In the past decade and a half, I have only briefly interacted with CyberGuy - usually when he came onto IRC (?) or Telegram (?) to give random hellos. I know CyberGuy was instrumental in numerous pre-2013 versions of the Brotherhood website, either building it directly or keeping it alive through years worth of coding changes. In 2024, we know the criticality of our website, we do everything on it - and we are only able to do that thanks to the work of CyberGuy in the 2000s. Thank you.
