Since his last promotion on 4/20/14, Armad has successfully completed the tasks required to become a Guardian to my knowledge as his Master. He has fulfilled all requirements as set out by the Brotherhood. This includes earning 34 Clusters of Fire, completing the Krath Core SA test, earning a Dark Cross, earning 3 Crescents, logged onto IRC and visited the Clan channel, outlined his character history and created an actual document for eventual posting as a wiki page, and communicated well with me. I’ve had the privilege of being a part of writing each of Atyiru’s awards or promotions. As her Proconsul and then Consul, I’ve spoken volumes about her positive attitude and the effect it has on the rest of the Clan. I’ve spoken about her eagerness to help others in anyway she can. And yet, here we are again, 9 Months since her last promotion.

In those 9 months, Atyiru has not only been an active Aedile for House Galeres, but one of Arcona’s most active members to date. She was awarded a Sapphire Blade for this combination of leadership and her performance in the Dark Crusade. She also earned a Grand Cross for taking the time and effort to assist with the Character Sheet overhaul project--a project that has seen widespread adaptation across the club. As a proofreader and content-creator, there are hundreds of small things that members take for granted each day that have a trace of Atty’s work on them. (Namely anything I wrote and is actually spelled correctly). She earned a follow-up Steel Cross for her participation in the ACC closed BETA, helping provide invaluable feedback. She has collected 2 Dark Cross’, one for helping Sarin with a task for the Voice office, and one for submitting a worthy “Ask The GM” question. All of this shows how Atyiru is not just an active leader, but an active member of our club. She has also, to date, been an active participant in the Fading Light Vendetta, a full participant in the Run-On and now ongoing ACC Tournament. She also earned a Seal of Loyalty for her continued dedication to the club.

Beyond that, Atty is always there as a friend. She is patient, rational, and treats everyone (new or old) like they are important to her. This empathy rings out when helping aleve frustrations of members either with each other, other leaders, or even other units. Atty also has helped out with countless drawings for Clan Arcona’s fictional story-lines, providing 3 high quality and personalized images for Operation: Sojourn. Over the holidays, she took it on her self to draw every member of the Arcona Summit in head-shot form for the Arcona Calendar, and has helped multiple members with creating renditions of their characters. She does this with a smile, and never asks for anything in return.

I’ll also add that Atty is my official proof reader in conjunction with Legz. I will not typically post a report, newspost, or clan update without having her first check for my repeated use (or lack thereof) apostrophes when writing possessives. (This recc will probably make her cringe, because I didn’t have her to proof it for me...oops :P).

Members like Atty are simply rare. She shows up everyday for work with a smile, on time and prepared. She makes everyone else that works with her better with her positive outlook and disposition. Never once has she vented frustration to me about lack of promotion or award. She keeps her head down and simply does what needs to be done. If i could clone this trait into every member of the Brotherhood, I think we would be an entirely different organization and everyone would be a bit less cranky all the time. Her selfless desire to help others without thinking of herself is endearing beyond anything else I’ve seen from a fellow leader or member of this club.

Thank you Atty for being you. You’ve earned this twice over, and should stand as the example of what an Equite 2 should be in this organization. I look forward to writing your next one. Keep up the great work, and get back to your street corner, hoe :P.

Consul of Clan Arcona

I am honoured to be recommending Atyiru for her elevation to the rank of Equite 2. She has been a long serving and active part of House Galeres Leadership, my right hand and a key player in what has been an amazing year for Clan Arcona. She has helped not only drive people to achieve their very best, but also does the same within herself, which sets a high bar for others to match.

As Wally has explained all of her active and hard work in these past nine months, I will take a minute to talk about her work as a Leader in Galeres. She has been with me threw thick and thin writing monthly House Reports together as well as keeping the whole house informed of important news and updates that have happened. She has helped me motivate members no matter what the cause, whether it be Vendetta, or Clan Operation.

Just with everything she does she takes time to make sure her passion for the club is inspired within other members. Everything has a purpose and Abby has always made sure that her work has that same inspiration behind it, going that extra mile regardless of how long it takes. She will take the time to complete it to perfection. With that in mind its no surprise that Abbey has been my shoulder and support during my time as Quaestor of the House, relying on her to help me with ideas, medals, recommendations.

What makes Atty stand out is not only her work as Aedile, its the extra things that she does. She uses her own initiative to continue to build friendships with members and Battleteam Leaders alike. She makes herself a well known presence inside the House and Clan and has also continued to be a heavy proofer inside of the Clan, proofing well over a hundred different pieces of work no matter how small they are, always happy to help anyone how ever she can.

Atty has helped many of the House members with their character sheets, sitting down with them and explaining the mechanics behind the ACC. Something that takes time and devotion also showing her patience to help members with anything that they need done. Her workload is constantly heavy but never once has she complained, she just smiles, says “ok”, and gets on with it. Not wanting for reward or praise she is the embodiment of what a Leader should be inside of Clan Arcona. Helping sort out the journeymen as well is something that she has taken to recently, sending out emails and helping them to progress into a Battleteam inside of House Galeres. She keeps them active and focused on their continued progression inside of the Club, maintaining members easily and with little effort as well as making friends just as quickly.

For all of her hard work and effort I am humble to be part of this recommendation for her. She has been my friend, Aedile and right hand for a while now. Honestly I can say she makes my job as a Quaestor easier and is always at hand if I ever need any help. Thank you Atty you will never truly know how much I appreciate all the hard work you have done since stepping into this role. Keep up the hard work and I look forward to continuing to work beside you.

Kairus - Promotion to EQ2

Sitting upon Summit for such a long time means that you are the one doing all the awarding. Such people are often awarded after the fact or neglected - this is very much a case of the latter, where this man has served with such proud distinction with no mention of thought or reward that it is an unfortunate truth that he has been overlooked. These things do happen. However, they can be fixed.

Let's examine some of Kairus' numbers. How about his awards since his last promotion two years ago? 7 Pendants of Blood, 462 Clusters of Fire, 20 different crescents, 11 Clusters of Ice, 1 Legion of the Scholar, 2 Bronze Novae, 5 Seals of Reminiscence, and one of each of our varieties of Cross. That is a storied career. That is a hardworking and considerable career of someone who has fought long and hard for the excellence of their unit. That Grand Cross was for kicking ass in sixteen out of seventeen possible Crusade events in the first chapter, and for serving as Quaestor for an incredible eight month term, with an almost four month term as Aedile directly before it. Almost one full year in leadership to the day. That is a solid career. He spent all that time as Quaestor leading from the front, making sure he entered everything he asked his members to do. He set a great example for everybody around him. Since then he has continued to work, and work hard, for Sadow - see the rec on his recent Anteian Cross, for which he is recognised for his activity in his Battleteam.

On top of this, he displayed the traits we want to see from a leader in this club. Not once have I ever seen Kairus belittle someone. Not once have I seen Kairus raise his voice, turn to anger. He's almost unflappable. I say almost; we're all human, and he probably has it somewhere. If he does, he keeps it locked down and away so that people don't see it. He's a consummate professional. He's polite, kind, helpful, respectful, always willing to lend a hand. He cares for those under his command and does it without hesitation or thought for himself. He was a mentor to myself who was still a low-ranking member of the Brotherhood, helping me set up a brand-new battleteam Tenebrae by, giving me the assistance and support necessary to lead the team and draw in a membership to the team, to write fiction, to integrate myself into Naga Sadow's Summit and beyond. Under his guidance, Journeymen such as myself, Syntari and even my own apprentice Yuriko came through ranks and promotions and accolades, building a solid foundation for the future. Personality is just as big a part of the job as the numbers, and Kairus definitely has the right stuff that we want to see in someone ascending the Equite ranks.

We don't often see the work of the sub-unit Quaestors, who are rather often overshadowed by the top level. They have a particularly difficult job; their world is not broadcast on the front page of the Brotherhood and is barely even seen by the others in their Clan - especially when your Clan Summit says that you are not permitted an Aedile to assist you with the work. However, the work they do is real. Their struggles are real. Their rewards should be equally so. When a sub-unit Quaestor works a miracle, he should be rewarded. For his efforts, I would like to applaud this absolute trooper.

This promotion is years overdue; he had earned it with the accolades of Quaestor long before he stepped down from the position. I spent a long time in his shadow, watching and admiring his work, seeing it from the perspective of a Summit subordinate to him. As such, it is my absolute honour and privilege to recommend Kairus for the rank of Equite Two.

I'd rec you for Equite 3, Kairus, but I don't think I can do that. You've earned this a million times over, my friend - thank you for everything you've done. Not just for me, but for an entire House.

I don’t write many of these, seeing as I don’t congregate with a lot of people. I’ve spent time with Kairus over the last few years and have found that he’s not only a highly active member, but he’s a good friend. Then, I asked myself what I could possibly say about him that would mean anything. Other people extol his abilities at getting medals or serving in leadership positions. I simply can only say that he’s a prime example of what a leader can and should be. He’s attentive to other people and what their problems are, he’s empathetic to their plights and is always willing to offer advice if they want it. His service to the younger members is a prime example of how we should all act. His patience is to be commended as well as his tenacity to insure they get awarded properly. His devotion to the Brotherhood is something we can all aspire to, so I will join my voice with the others in requesting his promotion to the second Equite level. I also join with them to congratulate him on this accomplishment.

While I haven’t had the privilege of knowing Kairus until his recent transfer to Odan-Urr, I have heard nothing but favorable comments from those I have spoken with. Judging by the recent interactions I have had with him, his character and personality are a perfect reflection of what we transpire to be in Odan-Urr. Having a solid career at the front of Units and his willingness to be productive, he is a wonderful addition to our House. Like most good leaders, his activity is colossal, and his tenacity is most impressive. While Mirus has covered the most part of his activity in a lengthy recommendation, I would like to point of Kairus’ ability to make friends in the Brotherhood. This is a man who has built up connections and friendships so deep, that I have had members relentlessly ask me to look into his activity since his transfer. Today is that day when I believe his contributions should be rewarded for all he has devoted to his past units. Congratulations, Kairus. You deserve this.
