The truly awesome thing about my job is getting to promote people. If the near pants-wetting level of excitement I feel upon seeing a promotion email in my own inbox is any indication as to how other's feel, then I can safely say that by doing this part of the gig, I am bringing joy. What's particularly awesome about this is that it's a two-way street. Dragoon has brought to me, as a leader, and his team, as a member, a remarkable amount of awesome. He communicates, he contributes, he's a part of the Naga Sadow family. We know who this cat is, and he's been a constant good example of what it means to be a member of CNS.
He took himself a bit of a break for a while there, but when he came back, I found myself wondering if he had in fact been gone for a spell, or if I was just dreaming it. Literally, it was like he'd never gone. His return was just as easy and natural as every thing else.
So yeah, he's filled the requirements, but we all know that's not all there is to it. He's not just done the work, he's become a part of the whole. That's what marks a Knight, and I certainly feel John "Dragoon" Whitwalker has earned the right to take his place among the other Knights of the Brotherhood.

Dragoon is one of those people whose knighthood I find not only a cause for celebration but an inspiration to others. His road has been a long and arduous one, but after three years, he has finally reached the end of the journey, and made it. This is a moment that always makes any leader happy, but in Dragoon's case I feel especially proud that where many others would have given up or drifted away, he has remained driven to fulfil what he started, and here we are, with John Witwalker having finally earned the right to bear his own lightsaber and be released from his Master, Macron's tutelage.
Even more, Dragoon's work has been stellar. His recent Brotherhood-wide competition, which he approached Sarin about advertising across the whole club, as a remarkable success, with more submissions than many competitions run by actual Summit members, and this is made even more commendable by the fact that it was a small event, run by a member many may not have recognised, and that did not offer Novas or Titles as awards, but which succeeded purely on the merits of the competition's design and appeal. This is a testament to Dragoon's ability to inspire others, and something I feel he should feel especially proud of.
I could go on, but to recount three years in a few sentences would be impossible. All that's left is for me to say congratulations, and that I hope Dragoon's renewed drive and motivation continues as he heads next towards the Equites.

Since his last promotion on 2/22/11, Dragoon has earned 2 CoI's, a Seal, 4 Crescents, and 5 Clusters of Fire. He has also, to my knowledge as his Master fully completed the Trials of Knighthood successfully. Dragoon is an interesting one. Many folks that go rogue or do not complete the Trials initially do not return and have the guts to dig back in to complete them. In this case, Dragoon proved the statistics wrong and plugged away solidly until he was done. This is made even more impressive by his enthusiasm for and participation in Crusade events. His DB History or Update competition proved quite popular, with more than 10 submissions from all over the entire DJB. I applaud Dragoon for finally getting the job done, and I am proud to call him my sixth Knighted student. Congratulations, Dark Jedi Knight John Dragoon Witwalker!
