Leadership isn’t always easy, especially during this past year, but Jon managed to keep his team brimming with activity and was a stable member of the Summit through it all.

During his 21 months as BTL he organized 62 competitions focused on providing activity and a storyline for those he oversaw. He contributed greatly to our award sweeps, supplying recs as needed, and aided in the daunting task of scouring through his roster to find what awards could be handed out. Jon managed to put out 17 reports during his tenure. His input during Summit talks helped guide the Clan to where we are today.

Since his last award, he had been BTL for 4 months, organized 16 competitions, participated in 13 competitions which earned him 1 Crescent with Ruby Star and 11 Clusters of Ice for 1,762 words of fiction, not including 1,211 words for his Run-On.

Nobody could have predicted the events you endured during your time as BTL, though you did what you had to do and for that, I thank you for your service!

One of the first things I did when I joined Sunrider’s summit was interview every member of the house to see how things were going and if their needs were being met. I asked about battleteams in general, but never the incumbent BTL. However, I heard about him. Members of Tython Squadron were quick to bring up how much they liked Jon, and based on my own experience as a member of the team, I was not surprised. In addition to his less quantifiable actions as a friend and mentor, Jon has organized 35 competitions in the six months since his last recognition. This would be a respectable number for a Consul or core DC member but it is, at least in my experience, almost unheard of for a BTL.

Jon is also an active member of the clan in his own right. He’s participated in 22 competitions, 1 ACC match, and earned 2 SA degrees. He has taken in 16 Clusters of Ice and 3 crescents. He has also contributed directly to Odan-Urr’s growth by recruiting Haytham, earning himself a Scroll of Indoctrination.

It has been a pleasure to work with Jon, and it is likewise a please to recommend him for his first Grand Cross.
