Today, I have the distinct pleasure of recommending Veil Arcana for his promotion from Equite 1 to Equite 2. I don't know that this is a time record for the Brotherhood, but it might very well be one within Clan Naga Sadow. It is a testament to how much that the man does, that the number of pending competitions and courses waiting to be graded were enough to nudge him over the line for promotion so quickly. I love to see such hyperactivity and drive anywhere in the club, and doubly so from my fellow members in our Ancient Clan.

In the 3 days since he was last promoted, he has earned 4 ranks (and 8 degress) in the Shadow Academy Society by completing 28 courses, earned four Crescents from participating in 5 competitions (what a batting average!) and otherwise proved to be a menace to my inbox. The work speaks for itself, and Veil Arcana has reached the required 12500 XP to reach the rank of Equite 2, and earn all of the perks associated. Congratulations and well-earned!

So I an pretty positive we have filled out promotion reccs on Veil at least once this week already. I thought this was a typo, however the PCon corrected me, "Nope, this is a fresh recc!" I swear this kid will be a GM in just a few weeks at this rate! Very cool to see folks enjoying themselves as they progress through the ranks! Never seen someone progress this fast and it is absolutely amazing to see!

An Equite is a member of a specially privileged class and having status intermediate between those of senatorial rank. You sir have demonstrated great dedication and loyalty to the Brotherhood and Clan Naga Sadow. Since your last promotion you have competed in five competitions, passed twenty three courses and earned eight degrees through the Shadow Academy.

The Equite tier within the Brotherhood takes its name from ancient Rome, as so many other things within our club. In ancient Rome, it was a peerage of stakeholders, cavalrymen, knights and voters, ranking only just below Senators. In the Brotherhood, it was for years some of the highest ranks that any member could attain without involvement with the Dark Council or in taking command of a clan. For decades, the Equites were the bulk of our club’s leadership, driving our club forward into the future as they drove themselves toward the vaunted Elder ranks. As such, the transition from Journeyman to Equite holds a special significance for us here in the Ancient Clan of Naga Sadow.

Veil Arcana has been tirelessly destroying competitions since his joining. He’s been plugging away quietly at the Shadow Academy, at fiction competitions, and at general activity. Rarely a day goes by without a bit of mail hitting my screen with regards to something that they have earned. Clusters, crescents, and courses all have been pinned to his dossier, each a testament to his effort. In his accumulation of accolades, he has come to that threshold, to rise above his hard-fought knighthood and take his place among the equites.

Thank you Veil, for all that you have done, and for all that I know you shall do.

It seems like yesterday that I was seeing Veil’s name come across Summit’s desk for an award or promotion. Almost positive myself or the PCon scribbled our initials on a couple of reccs regarding Veil like within the last 48 hrs or something like that. Maybe just a case of Déjà vu. Seriously though not to make light of any promotion, this one is a stepping stone, exiting the Journeyman ranks and now entering the Equites!

Since his last promotion, (I swear we just knighted him) Veil continues his steady array of activity. He has been in fifty eight comps, earned himself twenty four Crescents and forty five Clusters of Ice. He has also managed to squeeze in some time over at the Shadow Academy and added another course completed to his resume.

Veil continues to impress. This is a great accomplishment in your career and without a doubt not your last. Knight Veil Arcana has reached the required 6800 XP to reach the rank of Equite 1. Congratulations on this prestigious promotion and welcome to the ranks of the Equites!
