Primary reason: Since even before stepping into the role of Regent, Thran has been a force within the staff. Even a cursory glance into the staff chat reveals Thran leading the charge in discussions, which is quite a large part of the heavy lifting the Regent does. Each release, no matter the size, with his most recent Splinter release including 20 items, involves a great deal of debate and research. For each item that makes it to release, several more are weighed, measured, and found wanting. That is what it is to hold the Possessions purse strings. Thran stepped into a leadership role, even while Consul, elevating the quality of the office and the work it was accomplishing. He reviews each item through a careful and dispassionate lens, looking only at what potential an addition has for our systems and engagement, as well as how it integrates into the existing rule set. At any one time he is juggling several ongoing projects from upgrades to new releases. All the while he was running carefully crafted roleplaying sessions for CSP, a not insignificant amount of work for a truly guided experience, and participating in 25 competitions himself.

He is currently managing several crafting related projects pertaining to weapons, droids, and other enhancements including an internal review of the current crafting implementation and how it might be adjusted to deliver the best member experience. The latter project has already had outcomes delivered though not yet implemented. With his Regent work in mind, and his steady and successful leadership of Clan Scholae Palatinae, I am happy to recognize his efforts.

Additional reasons: I would like to pull back the curtains a little on the Regent staff and in particular the new boss man, Thran. He has the nickname the Usurper but the reality of his attitude is far from that. When unforseen circumstances took Anubis out of commission it was Thran who stepped up, kept us organized and moving forward. He didn't use it to lobby for Regent or throw Anubis under the bus. Instead it was "Take your time, we got this." He then proceeded to make sure everything stayed running so smoothly most people probably didn't even know there was an issue. I honestly don't know how to put his leadership during this time as anything other than amazing. So much so that even though I would eventually like the opportunity to succeed Thran I didn't even put in an application for Regent. Thran had earned it already

Since taking over as Regent he continues to be the workhorse he was as praetor. Still putting in massive work into the crafting project. Crafting is a massive beast, like huge and he works more than anyone on it. Add to the fact he is handling me throwing things in for his approval regularly, the day to day tasks and emails he has to answer as Regent.

When Thran responds to emails about item suggestions or proposals from members he nearly always starts it off with "after discussion." He isn't lying, everything emailed in is discussed extensively among the staff. While Thran and the overlords get the final say he listens to and takes the staffs points and ideas into consideration. Like Anubis before him, he makes the Regent staff both a fun place to be, but more importantly he makes us feel like valuable members of the staff and the club not just data entry drones in cubicles.
