Etah d'Tana is an Arconan. He perseveres through wars, vendettas, and even through times of peace. Since his last promotion on May 10, 2009 he has pumped more tigerblood through his veins than most other Arconan’s would know what to do with. He has served as Eclectic Pedagogue of General Leadership for 3 months, served as Aedile for 3 months, was the Docent of Arcona History for 6 months, Quaestor of Galeres for 3 months, and Rollmaster of Galares for 6 months. This is 13 months sequentially serving both Galeres and Arcona! During this time he was the primary author of the Shadow Clan's Prospectus, has an extensive history for House Galeres, and created the framework for Arcona's ground forces. He continued to prove himself by serving as the Left Hand of Justice for 1 year. He was Battleteam Leader of the Black Hammer Brigade for 3 months, Battleteam Leader of Secter Cell, and has been the Battleteam Leader of Shadow Gate for 2 months incumbently while training Deimos as an XO.
He has earned an astounding 3 Steel Crosses, 3 Anteian Crosses, 5 Dark Crosses, 5 Gold Novae, 3 Silver Novae, 1 Bronze Novae, 1 Amethyst Crescent, 4 Sapphire Crescents, 2 Emerald Crescents, 1 Topaz Crescent, 14 Clusters of Ice, 2 Scrolls of Foundation, 1 Scroll of Indoctrination, 1 Seal of Loyalty, 13 Seals of Unity, 2 Seals of Bone, 7 Seals of Defiance, 14 Seals of Decimation, 7 Seals of Affliction, and a Seal of Reminiscence.
Most recently he mentored Deimos d'Tana to Dark Jedi Knight. Deimos has continued following his Master's example and recently even joined the Equites of Qel-Droma. If all of our members were able to follow the activity Etah and Deimos’ battleteam has had Arcona would have won Ziost and the Dark Crusade.
For four years of consistent activity, his leadership, his participation during the Dark Crusade, and his help identifying opportunities of improvement for Qel-Droma's Summit I am proud to recommend Etah for his well deserved promotion to Equite 3.
Quaestor of Qel-Droma
It’s easy to take advantage of certain types of members. They are not the flashiest members, and won’t take the spotlight by winning tons of novae or writing a big emotional speech. They are the workhouses that lead by example and deed- working hard and never complaining or letting a lack of the limelight slow their progress. They are excellent leaders with long track records, and whenever they are called on, they simply step up. No questions asked. No need for reward.
Etah embodies this type of work ethic, and because he’s not as loud as others, his actions sometimes get overlooked. Nevertheless, Etah has been a staple of activity in Arcona since I joined it 4 years ago. I’ve seen him tackle everything from BTL up to Quaestor when needed. Not only that, he has helped bring back older members such as Deimos, who ended up becoming one of our 20 DJKs this year as well as our top participant in the Dark Crusade. He has been working with him as a mentor and has shown patience and resilience in the face of a long career.
I almost fell completely out of my chair when I realized the last time he had been promoted was 2009. As his Quaestor, Proconsul, and now Consul I hope to remedy this immediately with elevation to Obelisk Exarch.
Thank you for all the hard work and dedication you’ve given Arcona, Etah. We would not be the same without you.
Consul of Clan Arcona
Etah has been one of the stalwarts of Clan Arcona, and he has been a veteran voice through exhilarating highs and frustrating lows. He’s one of those guys that is an Arconan to his core, his name synonymous with his unit, a member who always answers the call to arms whenever Arcona goes to war, and whenever his peers need a leader. I remember snagging him on G+ multiple times over the years, just to say one thing: we need you.
Every time, he answered the call. He’s been successful at every stop, including in roles from Quaestor to Aedile to Battleteam Leader. He’s the kind of leader who does not complain, who does not need validation, and who does not need praise or rewards in order to remain upbeat and effective in his position. He’s not a flashy, rabble-rousing motivator who whips the mailing list into a bloodthirsty fervor, nor is he an aloof but effective administrator. He’s something better than both.
Etah, above all, is a member’s leader. He talks to them, he gets them, and he knows them. It’s that kind of leadership, especially from a veteran who is respected as Etah is, that really inspires a love of Clan and Brotherhood in Journeymen and younger members. It’s those traits, and that style, that have allowed Etah to effectively mentor so many Arconans over his years. This steady leadership is something that is too easy to overlook, but without it, Arcona would not be the place that it is today.
Thank you, Etah, for being a friend and a mentor even to me. You are the cream of a crop of Arconan veterans that ensures continuity and stability even as Consuls and Quaestors rise and fall, and reflected within you are the same values and characteristics that Arcona attempts to instill in all of its members. Thank you for being a shining light, and for giving so selflessly to the Brotherhood.
Proconsul of Clan Arcona
There are showboats, and there are those who just get things done. Some of us have no desire to sing our own praises, preferring to let the results speak for themselves. Etah is in that same category. Solid, steady, and consistent, his even hand helps create an environment of trust, of teamwork. It is a shame that all too often, these sort of folks get overlooked, passed over in favor of giving the praise to the louder brethren. Today,w e rectify this for at least one man. Etah, It is with great honor that I reccomend you for promotion. Please accept this as a token of the Brotherhood's esteem for you and what you have done for Arcona. It is most appreciated.
