A crazy goat-lady of many names and monikers, Zuji is a staple personality in Arcona. The other recommendations hit on so many aspects about her, from by-the-numbers quantifications to her ability to influence beyond our Clan’s borders. I will instead focus on her leadership for Arcona and, given the circumstances, consider her DJB career.

Since she joined in 2016, Zuji has been a leader in Arcona. Within three months of joining, she was made Battleteam Sergeant of Shadow Gate, the then-active team in House Qel-Droma. Two months later, she transitioned to Battleteam Leader. During that time she did what many burgeoning leaders in the Brotherhood do by posting reports (seven in all for her eleven months of Battleteam time) and keeping her members motivated. By the next year, she transitioned to Aedileship of Qel-Droma, and the year after that to Quaestor for thirteen months of House leadership, leading her House through the GJW that brought about Possessions in the Brotherhood; Arcona’s Consul Bride co-op event with Clan Odan-Urr; and in raising up Battleteam Voidbreaker, which has since been and still is a thriving and welcoming place for any Arconan. She would briefly step down from leadership before resuming the mantle later that year as the Clan’s Rollmaster, a post she successfully held for a year, tackling the period of social media recruiting with gusto, before stepping down from formal leadership roles in 2019.

Zuj is more than just a position holder, though. On paper, she’s successfully mentored six members to Knighthood (JM4), and directly recruited three. Not bad numbers for a seven year career. What isn’t captured, though, are the ripple-effect impacts she’s had on the Clan. Consider, for instance, that her Aedile in Qel-Droma during her Quaestorship was Lucine Vasano, who was Zuji’s junior in the club. Lucine would go on to become Consul of Arcona, among other Qel-Dromans that thrived under her leadership, like Rhylance. Supposing that she didn’t have such profound impacts on the future Clan-level leadership of Arcona, her presence has still been a positive constant in chats and activity. Every new member gets an introduction from her (and I do mean every). She can always be seen in her waking hours encouraging people to participate in the club, be it in competitions, unsubmitted fictions, roleplay, or just talking in chats on anything from professional to personal. This is perfectly captured in the report that appointed her as an Arconae title holder in the Clan, and should serve as further testimony to her continued service to others.

To Zuji herself, thank you for all that you do. I am glad to have served with you these past years, and look forward to even more. Your presence and drive is an inspiration, and I hope this in some small way conveys that.

Consul, Clan Arcona

In the years since their last promotion, Zuji has organized 2 competitions and participated in a whooping 259, garnering her 1 Gold Nova, 2 Silver Novae, 4 Crescents with Diamond Stars, 5 Crescents with Ruby Stars, 11 Crescents with Amethyst Stars, 21 Crescents with Sapphire Stars, 14 Crescents with Emerald Stars, and 11 Crescents with Topaz Stars. Several of those competitions also represent their participation in major vendettas, for which he was granted 1 Seal of Loyalty, 13 Seals of Enmity, and 12 Seals of Ascension.

Additionally, out of 173 Gaming Activities, Zuji has completed 18 Legacy PvP matches, culminating in 492 Clusters of Fire and 186 Clusters of Earth. Their 27 Fiction Activities have altogether totaled 125 Clusters of Ice, over 62,500 words of writing (be proud of yourself, you novelist) while wonderful artworks have garnered 55 Clusters of Graphite.

She's also passed two Shadow Academy courses and received one Scroll of Indoctrination for recruiting KD9038, now a Journeyman, to the club, and two Scrolls of the Master for mentioning Zuza Lottson, now an Equite, Rollmaster, Battleteam Leader, and Praetor, to Knighthood, as well as our newest rising star Sivall Zoria, soon to be an Equite herself. Zuji's greatest contributions as a member continue to lie in their attitude and their leadership and mentorship, as they have consistently been a welcoming and helpful countenance to every member she comes across, held multiple leadership positions, lead from the front as an example of activity, and advised members both new and veteran; these behaviors have earned him a cabinet of awards in his DB lifetime, including since his last promotion alone an Amethyst Kukri, a Sapphire Blade, a Grand Cross, an Anteian Cross, and a Dark Cross. While she's currently accumulated 15068 XP since her Equite 4 promotion, her lifetime experience is a spectacular 55068.

But what numbers document cannot tell everything. I have said as much before and will say it again, true as it holds: Zuji is the best of us. Her constant, consistent kindness, kindness as a choice, provides a voice of reason and reminder in times both turbulent and calm for their complacency. Always is she one to stand up, call out a wrong or even just a bad attitude, and gently turn it aside, turn gazes inward to reflect. In any office, in any respect, they have made us better. As people, as leaders, and as a club. We cannot thank you enough, but we can hope to acknowledge in this small measure the genuine ways knowing you has been precious beyond measure. Congratulations, Beanie.

Proconsul, former Master, Clan Arcona

Zujenia, Zuji, Zuj, Diy, Kait, or in the words of Howie at one point, “What’s Her Face Happy Super Introduction Greeter Person” (and probably other things I’ve forgotten over time). She goes by many names, but she’s been a constant presence in the DB for years now. Diy is great. Full stop. She’s an active member and has served in different capacities as a leader and mentor to others, and I’m sure the others will touch on that more. But what’s always struck me is just how damn friendly and helpful she is. Whether it was on Telegram or Discord, she’s usually quick with a greeting when new people joined and ready to go with offering help.

When I’ve been stumped on something, she’s given me a nudge and offered me some ideas and suggestions, always ready with encouragement. I may not have always said it, but I’ve always appreciated it. And she’ll do this with anyone, clanmates and those in other units, breaking down boundaries - and it starts with a cheery greeting to boot. She’ll offer whatever assistance she can, even lending her own characters as a creative hook to get others involved due to a similar background or shared interests, or just as someone that maybe they ran into at some point and that could be how they found out about the DB/Arcona - really, it could be anything. But the fact remains: she’s there. She doesn’t do this for reward or recognition, it’s just who she is. It truly brings me joy to see someone so giving and friendly helping out anyone that may be in need, in ways both big and small.

When I think of what makes someone suited for the Elder ranks, it’s someone who has had an impact throughout the club. I’d say Diy has that in spades and what she’s done will stand the test of time. Congratulations on a well-earned promotion, keep being your amazing self, and welcome to the Elders! Feel free to celebrate with a victorious bleat or, as you’re so fond of saying to others in greeting them, whatever floats your goat!
